Another Video with great sound of the 5.0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92OTuLxolJw

The best video I have found to get an idea of what the new 5.0 sounds like... however it does have some **** elevator music in the background.

Who will be the first to take off the stock mufflers and take a ride around town and post a video of it?

Repose buddy. And see, from this video the new 5.0 sounds so "rough". I loved how "smooth" and burbly the old mod motors sounded...

Yeah, it's odd. In the other videos I've seen the sound was nice but this is reminiscent of a lawnmower engine. Maybe they didn't get actual Mustang audio and dubbed in Briggs & Stratton.

I don't think it sounds any better or worse than the 4.6. In most of the videos I've seen it actually sounds quieter.

True. I plan to pop on an OR X-Pipe and some Flow masters.

BTW, that video just looks like the original un-edited copy from the Matt Farah review. I dont think its actually new footage.

Well it's my opinion that the note the 4.6 put out sounds "better".

What I'm pointing out is that, due to the firing order, it sounds different. It's going to take some getting used to, that's all...Right now, I like the sound of the mod motors better, with the 03-04 Mach 1/Cobras being my favorite sounding Mustangs ever. Always going to love the old 5.0 sound too though.

As several of the reviews pointed out, the new 5.0L's sound is more akin to a German V8 rather than the outgoing Modular V8.

In fact, IMO, Ford's new mill sounds almost like the 6.2L Mercedes engine found in the E63 AMG.

Yep, I'll drink to that. Very German sounding.

It does sound more rough than the 4.6L, but to me it also sounds more powerful. You can tell the engine is breathing better just by the exhaust.

If it sounds like the German V8's wait till some good mufflers go on then, the German V8's sound amazing with the right exhaust.(not that mustangs don't sound amazing...they always do)

If, only if that is the final sound, i find it very authoritive and like it . Like OP said, it definately breaths better than the 4.6. That's my kind of sound. Don't forget, it's got headers, makes a big difference as well. We'll just have to find the best sounding mufflers when they become available.

To me, the engine sounded less smooth in this video than in most of the others. But we're just not going to know until we hear it in person. The placement of the microphone alone is going to change what the recorded video sounds like. Throw in different recording equipment, etc, and we're just getting an approximation.

It's like judging the color of a car by seeing a couple of photos online. The same car can look dark blue from one angle, bluish-purple from another, nearly black from another. We know that Race Red is red but I've seen a number of photos where it looks orange. I think the same principle applies to these audio recordings.

Easy enough, just add some SLP loudmouths.
