Able to install cat-back w/o a lift?
Hi there, just ordered a borla cat-back for my car that is supposed to be here Wednesday (woot!), and I'm wondering if ramps are going to be enough to get the over-the-axle pipes on? My floor jack $hit the bed so I don't even have the option of putting it up on jack stands 'till I can get a new one this weekend.
Thanks!
Thanks!

You'll like the borla cat-back! Unfortunately the rams by itself will not work, you will need to drop the axle down in order to get the O/A pipes out. To make it easier I usually unbolt the rear shocks to drop the axle a little farther if its done on jackstands. Hope this helps.

I just recently had my Borla Catbacks installed. Best exhaust mod imo.
As far as install though, the OTA pipes were deemed to be the major PITA. So, jacks and/or ramps would not do it. It wasn't worth the pain to me. So I had my trusted shop install it for under 80 bucks. Done in an hour or so.
This is what I recommend.
I usually work on all that kind of stuff on my own...but this time, with not having a lift, it wasn't worth it.

I would advise against that. You never know when you will need to go back to stock. I just took them to my trusted shop and I was done in under an hour. All my stock components were in one piece and unscathed.

Yes, jack stands are fine. I've never used a lift. I installed my supercharger, catback a and long tubes on jack stands and used my cherry picker to raise te engine while doing the headers install. Currently I have my mid pipe and stock driveshaft removed while my DSS shaft is on its way, sitting on jack stands.
