2014 5.0 Installed BBK long tubes and the check engine light hasnt come on
Hey Guys!
I just signed up after picking up my new 2014 Black 5.0,
Right away Ive installed BBK long tubes, BBK Xpipe, and flowmaster thunder mufflers, the car sounds amazing
I was told that the engine light would come on asap after the install, but 3 days later it still hasnt come up, I was planning on having it tuned to remove this and max the power from the new toys but im not sure what to do,
Just a bit worried the engine might continue to run, and maybe run a bit lean running into some problems down the road,
Anyone else come across this yet?
Thanks
Steve

Yeah,...that is pretty weird that the CEL hasn't come on yet. I bet it does,...especially without a tune.
Good luck!

I ran mine on the stock tune once when I had to go in for the AC tensioner TSB, and the light never came on. Ran it that way 15 miles to the dealer and 15 miles back. Never threw any light or any codes.

With adaptive learning on these news cars and the fact that the front o2 sensors are also widebands no tune is really needed. The only time something might be tweaked would be the rear o2's being placed further downstream.

Hey Guys,
sorry for the late reply, thanks for your replys
Just got the engine light this morning,
took about 50 miles, stepped on it merging on the highway,
love the sound, love the upgrades, long tubes are tough to get in though,
sorry again,
Steve

They were annoying to install, only because it's difficult to get the space to slide tools in to torque things down. This car was the first and last set I'll ever do myself again. But they sure do sound great.
