2013 Mustang GT CAMS

So, I have not seen anyone who has done cams yet. I found these http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com...550-m50gte.htm

Is this what will give my car a loud idle? Even with my borlas and offroad h pipe my cars very quiet at idle.

Will i get increased HP?

Also I have a Steeda Tune and CAI if i get these do you think steeda can adjust the tune for it?

If you want it for sound, get a ghost cam tune. i see you already have steeda, they offer a ghost cam tune, so does Bama. Lund Racing I think still does as well.

Wow, $1600 for cams. I think I'll go with the ghost cam tune whenever one is available for the auto transmission.

DOHC vs SOHC 3V.

But DOHC 4V has its advantages. You don't have to compromise the ex cam vs the in cam like a SOHC.
Just think of a free breathing ported head with TiVCT with 4 hot cams and LT headers with a tune workin in to safe max.

I'm really considering doing Cams in my 2011, going to go with Comp Stage 3 NA. May even do it this week, the Novelty of the Steeda Cam Tune has worn off and stalls with the AC on. When I get it done I will post a Vid and before/after dyno #s. Current Roush mods in sig.

Yes it would replace the tune you have and still offers performance gains, just has a different idle.

Do you still have the stock over axle pipes? If so. Cut the resonators off. They choke down to 2" internally and make the biggest difference in sound on these cars.

Personal preferance but the ghost cam idle is the essence of "Rice". yep it sounds cool but anyone who knows that the car has TiVCT will think you're nuts.

I have the JPC NA cams in my car. Haven't had a chance to dyno, so I can't say what kind of gains are to be had. Not to mention I installed a TON of parts all at the same time (cams, stage 1 heads, long tubes, boss manifold, 3" catback).

There isn't much of a lope at idle. Unless you have an exceptional ear, it would be VERY difficult to determine a cam had been installed. This is paired with a set of long tubes (catted h), and 3" catback (pypes super system)

I installed the Stage 2 Comp Cams and was running the Boss manifold. I experienced a lot of idle problems. My tuner is one of the tops and conferred with John Lund and my builder about my problems. After all tuning tweaks were exhausted, I removed the Boss and installed the Roush 625hp TVS. This is an excellent match. Nearly 650 rwhp and 550 lb/ft. My tuner told me that was the most he had seen from a Roush or Whipple and gave the cams the credit. Make no mistake, driving this monster is nothing like driving a stock 5.0. It doesn't like to be babied but it will scare the crap out of whoever is in the passenger seat

Agreed, Ghost Cam Tune is a cruise night novelty.

Hey guys I put the comp cams stage 3 n/a no springs required cams in my 2011 a few weeks ago. There is the good and the bad. I gained about 50 rwhp, but the cams at idle the lope isn't noticeable unless you know they are there. They can be tuned to sounds like the older 05-09 thumpr cams. But to get the most performance you won't hear any lope at idle. So if you want the performance it's worth it but if you are just wanting the awesome lope it's better for you to just get the steeda ghost tune or from someone else also and save your money.

50RWHP?!
Whoa!! That's no joke.

Is it all over the power band or just up top?

It's more through the powerband and after 3k rpms mostly. I have longtubes, boss manifold, throttle body, cold air. Advertised gains are around 40. So depends on if that's worth spending the money to you.

I would like to see the before and after dyno graph to support the 50whp claim.
