Hey guys,

We at C&L have redesigned our intake kits to include a new air filter shield that doesn’t allow water to pour into the filter on the 2013 Mustang GT’s. If you’ll look at the photo’s we have addressed this concern by changing the top portion of the filter shroud to intercept and deflect any water from getting into the air filter area.




You can see by the next photo with the hood nearly closed how the front section of our shield is positioned perfectly to block the open vents from water while not pushing up on the hood. The seal around the top sits perfectly against the underside of the hood without rubbing or scratching.




Finally this kit has been dyno-proven over the last two years to be the best performing air intake on the market today. The actual tube and MAF housing has not changed and still offers the same level of performance, quality and reliability you’ve come to expect from a C&L product.

just in time for my paycheck on friday...

now if someone just had the stinking GT500 mufflers in stock...... I've have my intake and exhaust done....

 

In case anyone is wondering, the 2013 C&L CAI will be available in the next week or so. C&L is redesigning the model to work with 2013 as well as 2012 and back to 2010 (I think). It'll have that shroud that keeps water from the hood vents off the filter and work with previous year Mustangs. These are truly the best CAI out there, can't wait to dump one I have and replace with the C&L!

You are correct, we are standardizing the shields for all of the 2010-2013 Mustangs, V6 and GT. Still, we have to fit them on each vehicle and make adjustments to our shields to ensure the best fitment and quality we can offer. This will take time and we don't have a specific date yet as to when this will happen. This is only a shield change and will have no impact on flow characteristics or power levels.

As for 2013 kits, we have been selling a tremendous amount with great reviews from customers and dealers alike. The only thing we are waiting for is the trim seal that goes along the top side of the shield to allow it to seal to the underside of the hood further ensuring no water intrusion. We were expecting it today but if it doesn't show then early this coming week we will begin shipping them again.
