15" drag rims

Will a 26-8.5-15 drag radial on an 8" rim fit on the rear of my 2011 gt (standard brakes) without relocation brackets?

Yes. Plenty of folks run 15" drag wheels.
Your tire options would likely be expanded by going with a wider wheel though.

I'd recommend talking to American Muscle or any of the forum sponsors (no affiliation) and pick out a set that's known to fit.

Wait...is your question regarding the fitment of an 8.5" wide tire on an 8" rim? That shouldn't be a problem.

If you have a set of wheels on hand that you're curious about, what are they? It's possible that wildly incorrect offset of a particular wheel could cause problems but the rear wheel wells are pretty generous on these cars so you'll likely be fine if it's close to stock.

Thank you. I do not have tires or rims yet. I do not want relocation brackets.

Why? It's pretty simple to do. A 15x10 is the way to go for a variety of reasons.

I want to maintain my extended warranty. With relocation brackets it would be a lot easier for ford to deny my warranty. Do you think there is that big of a difference between 8" wide and 10". I was. Going to go with the MT street radial pro because of price and the convenience of only changing one set of rims at the track. I have a manual.

The warranty on what? Relocation brackets do not void the warranty on your entire vehicle.

Of course they do not void your entire vehicle warranty. I'm referring to transmission/rear end failures. If I blow out the rear end or transmission on the drag strip I'm sure they may get suspicious when they see relocation brackets.

You're worried about warranty because of relocation brackets when your car is already tuned? Now I think I've heard it all.

I never thought it would ever be so difficult to explain a common sense issue. Next thing I will hear is my tune voids my warranty with regards to my ac or power windows.

So relocation brackets void the gearbox warranty, but a tune won't?

OK

You seem a little fuzzy on the warranty. A tune will be the one thing that WILL void your drivetrain warranty. Certainly not sway bar relocation brackets.

As far as warenty goes, it all depends on the dealer. ( trust me I'm in the industry)
How about someone just answer the wheel question for the guy instead of debating war. issues.
If you don't have the knowledge to answer the wheel question, just don't post!
Sorry just had to vent!

While I must admit that I'm mostly familiar with performance tires oriented around handling, you can fit WAY more tire on a rim that's 2" wider...and your contact patch will be much greater thanks to the tire not being "squeezed."

It's possible that drag tires are constructed to maintain a proper contact patch despite being squeezed (can anyone verify/refute?) but IMO, wider is pretty much always better when it comes to performance tire/wheel combos.
