How Difficult Is A Suspension Install?

I've ordered the Roush Stage 3 Suspension kit for my 2010 GT. The Roush website classifies a suspension install as a "novice" level install, but doesn't publish the installation instructions. It also says no tools are required which I find hard to believe.

Anyway, the local dealer who's doing my supercharger install wants $450 to install the suspension kit which I find a bit ridiculous. However, unlike the supercharger, the suspension kit's warranty is not compromised if I do it myself. I am fairly mechanically inclined and have the base auto hobby shop at my disposal with a lift and all the necessary tools. Is this something I should tackle myself or should I leave it to the experts?

Not sure what all comes in the kit you are getting. The most difficult thing to deal with will be the springs. I haven't done an S197 Mustang yet so I'm not sure what the front coil install entails but since you would be replacing the struts anyway for the ones in the kit I don't think it will be too bad. The rear coils should be fairly easy, just pull the shocks loose and drop the axle until the springs are loose. The rest should be fairly straight forward.

Also, $450 for the install is pretty good since I'm sure that would include a new alignment that would be required after the install.

Check this youtube clip for some specifics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtczXhVnPvs They're installing the FRPP version... so it's similar to that of Roush. It's long but very informative and user friendly

IDK, I mean I'm pretty handy and all, but I'd rather not even put up with all the ins and outs and know that it'll be put in correctly. $450 to me is worth not having the headache. Def try to chisel them down tho, maybe say $400? ...

3 or 4 hours of work and an alignment that 450 is not to bad. How long is the work guaranteed for? Lifetime front end alignment????
