drone!

My car is stock 2010 gt except for a pypes pype bomb axle back. Love the sound but hate the drone around 2000 rpm. I've read threads about others adding the pypes cut and clamp x-pipe and it reduced the drone. Anybody else have this axle back on a stock gt with no other mods and what did you do to get rid of the drone?

Check that your tips come out past the rear bumper.

I've read that after your pypes bombs break in the drone goes away. How many miles do you have on it?

I also heard that if the flow chnages from side to side the drone will go away, somd have acomplished this by denting the catalytic converter. But this guy has a better idea. I have a 2012 and my cat is dented and it came that way. I was told that was factory. These are unproven statements so do more research before denting your cats.

I've only put on about 500 kms since I had the pype bombs installed. Maybe I'll wait awhile to see if that's true. I've learned how to drive around the drone for now. I just keep it above 2000 rpm.

Ya I should've just paid a little extra and gotten the pypes super system, but i guess I can just buy 2 pypes m80 mufflers and weld them in before the axle and it would be the same as the super system.

Research Welding in dyno max bullets between the cats and axel. I have heard this helps.

I got my 2011 GT/CS vert and the only mod that was done was a Magnaflow catback system with a magnaflow resonator. The drone a 2000rpm is too much for me. I've read a bunch of possible fixes, but don't feel like spending the time/$$ to figure it out.

I found me a stock set and it's going back on as soon as the snow leaves. I love the sound in general, but highway cruising it sits right at 2000rpm in 6th, and I hate having to drive in 5th because of the drone!

I had the same problem. Sold mine to someone on here and got borla s-type catback.

It's worth taking the hit

Get taller gears, cruise at 2400 rpm, problem solved lol. Quicker launches are just a value add...
