SGM in different light
SGM in different light
So, I've browsing other colors and note how fantastic SGM looks in the bright sun. However, many of the pictures in the shade or diffuse light the paint just looks drab gray, with no zip. quite a few of them do actually

Is this really how this paint looks? or iis it just not very photogenic?
I'm curious in the color but the off-light conditions don't seem very flattering.

I think I talked about this in a previous thread. Its really silvery and sleek in the sunny light and at night it looks a bit stealthy. Here are some shots of mine in direct sunny light and another at dusk.

Sunny

Look at it in person on a cloudy day, almost has a green tint to it.
When i looked at SGM in 2010 it was cloudy, I ended up with Grabber Blue, Made sure I got it after it came back on the 2013

the suspension was actually a packaged deal from LMR: Ford Racing K-series springs, and FR shocks/struts. the springs are 1.5" drop.

i got it on sale, but it wasn't that much less than the $870 they're asking for it. on top of that i did buy an adjustable panhard bar separately.
Loving the pictures- they are making me feel much better about the Sterling Gray GT '14 I currently have a SG '14 on order (ETA 30 May, a day which feels like it is an eternity away). I originally checked Ingot Silver on the order form, but the wife dragged me out to the dealer that night and convinced me to change to Sterling Gray. Since then, I've stopped by the dealer in lots of different lighting conditions, and- depending on the lighting- either kick myself for not going with Ingot or congratulate myself for going with Sterling.
I liked the comment about the Sterling being a "sophisticated" color..., because the '14 is supposed to match the scheme of my '65 coupe- which is another "sophisticated color" (Silver Smoke metallic). On sunny days, Silver Smoke looks bluish, and on cloudy days it looks just a bit green. Both cars will have red interiors. I wish you could custom order colors like back in the day- I would have happily paid Ford an extra $1-2k to have the car done in Silver Smoke.
Anyway, thanks for the SG pics- it does look awesome in the right light!
