Yeah, that's an average price, high or low depending on where you live. I got quoted way more for a similar job but the place is pricey and I live in CT, where things cost more on average to begin with. Could do the stripes yourself for cheaper, but you'd likely get a warranty on the material and install if you have someone do it. I say worth the $.

All I can say is "Don't do it!" I love stripes but would recommend you save the money and find a paint shop to shoot the stripes right. Yes, it costs a lot more but, you will enjoy them for the life of your car. I had silver rally stripes put on and in labout a year (despite everything I tried) the horizontals surfaces picked up stains and went from silver metallic to flat grey. That is the reason you can't get silver stripes on a GT500 anymore - Ford had to replace them all by 2011. Black vinyl holds up best but, they will start to go bad after a few years. My car is now in the shop having custom stripes shot on just the hood. Doing the whole car would have cost mor than I am willing to pay but I wanted the job done right and the design is unique and flows with the Boss C stripes.

Hey Hulkstang, the stripes look good - are they black or a darker grey, hard to tell in the pic. Looks like you got matte, correct? If they are, just don't wax the matte. You should get about 5 years out of these stripes but they will be a pain to take off after getting double baked by the sun and the heat from the engine.

Silver and (Sterling) Grey
Here are my stripes fresh from paint - I love silver on sterling grey and wanted to incorporate elements of the "C" stripe. This stripe makes the power dome look like a huge reverse shaker

Looks good! That front plate kills it though... stupid CA and our stupid traffic laws. I'd mount it lower and offset it to the right to give it a little more personality.

True it is a stupid law and had the dealership not have drilled the holes into the bumper so high, that may have been an option. I would have been happy to install one of the retractable just to keep it virgin but, it is what it is.

Bumper plugs, painted SG. They're very inconspicuous, and then you can mount the plate wherever you want.

About how much did painting the stipes cost you? I'm just curious in case its cheaper to do vinal twice over the course of 7-10 years or if a one time paint job is the better option. That C stripe on the hood really makes it pop!
Hulkstang, first off i am envious of your traffic laws and not having to have the front plate. The stripes look good though, i really like that they go all the way from front to back on the car. Just a personal preference thing, but it always kinda bugs me when i see the stripes starting on the hood and not the bumper, or ending on the trunk and not countinueing on the rear bumper. I just feel that is an abrupt stop when there is more distance that the stripe should go.
Anyway, both of these look great, very nice cars guys!

The stripes cost $1,000 but, they look fantastic That also included the cost of removing the baked on vinyl stripe. Silver is far and away the worst color on horizontal surfaces (go black) and unless you just do the same stripes, you will have fading. Originally the stripes went all the way down the back but decided to just focus on the hood since I have the 3D Carbon boot cover and it leaves marks on the paint (rubber gasket rubbing) which looked like hell on the silver. I decided instead to put a decklit panel on the back to hide that concave panel with the rally stripes just didn't do it for me. Best things about going paint, it is permanent and you can do the stripes the way you want and keep your ride unique
