2013 Sterling GT 5.0
I just want to start out by saying hello to all you guys!
So, long story- I had placed an order for a 2013 GT 5.0 last year when Military sales first got the go ahead to take initial orders, but would have to wait until the options were released later on. I had the opportunity to get a 2012 GT500 instead, but that fell through because they wanted me to front all the money and participate in a "lottery" and then front money for a car I'd "potentially" own. I was pretty bummed, and I ended up getting a totally different car. I have a pretty diverse car background for those of you wonder why the extreme switch... I purchased a 2012 VW Golf R- This car was one of roughly 1,500 for the year of 2012. It was a fun, torquey little car. AWD and a snail made it a great combo. I bought a bunch of parts for it, but I never got around to putting them all on before I traded it in for the Mustang. The car was set to make about 450AWHP once finished.
Upon returning from deployment, a buddy of mine picked up a 2011 GT/CS. I got to take a look at it and he let me take it for a spin. Sort of to let me "see what I missed" At the time, I didn't see what I missed just looking at it, I didn't see what I missed driving it- especially at on post speeds of 30MPH. It was something about this car that I just like. There were things about my Golf R that were just flat out better than the Mustang. For instance the interior, amenities and the overall fit and finish is much better than that of the Mustang. Comparing the two is apples to oranges, but the price point is **** near the same. Late last week I decided to start looking around, and by Friday I ended up taking delivery of my car and I am extremely happy with my choice. I had quite a bit of equity in my car, so I used that to my advantage when buying the Mustang. I picked the Mustang up for about $1,500 under invoice and essentially nothing changed financially, just the car I was driving.
Anyway, here are some pics of the old..
And the new.. It hasn't been detailed yet(Didn't want the dealer to touch), but Swissvax Mystery and Jetseal109 will be going on.
At a BBQ in Hutto at my Brother-In-Law's
Plans for the car...
-Sam Strano suspension setup
F/R control arms, sways etc...
-Boss Lip
-Tint
-Exhaust, headers on back
-FRPP Whipple Blower
-CCW wheels (Still trying to figure out a size and setup)At least a 285 out back
-New front grille
-New lower griller
-GT500 spoiler
-Hurst Short Shifter
-Revamp the stock stereo system as it is atrocious
There is probably much more I want, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'll post up some non-iPhone Nikon pics up later.

Thanks, again!
So do any of you have a front license plate solution?
I just picked up nice plate and wanted to solve mount my plate somewhere other than the bumper.

Very nice!!
I'm wondering though -- what is it that you didn't like about the Golf? You are giving it high marks (which I agree with) but there must have been something about the Mustang that you could not resist?

I think it was just something about the Mustang that I've always wanted. I wasn't sure what some of those things were until today. I was driving home and I gave it a partial throttle and before I knew it, I was breaking the speed limit. The Mustang give me that feeling of "Holy ****, this thing is pretty beast". It was the most I've opened it up since I bought it. It's more of a drivers car, and I like that you have to be cautious and on your toes. With the R, it's nice being able to point the steering wheel in the direction you want it to go and have no doubts it'll go somewhere other than the desired direction, but I like the active experience that driving this car brings.

For those of you interested, I have a Blackstone Oil Analysis kit on the way. I'm going to send in the stock oil for analysis to see what its got.
I'll probably do that at about 2,000 miles.
For now, I'm going to select an oil to use. What are all of you guys using on here?

Here's some pics of it after the first detail. Don't hate on my non-camera skills, I'm learning.
Here's the product used.
Here's a vid of how the water just sheens off the paint. Vid is terrible, too.
