2012 SG GT
Whats up guys,
I'm brand spanking new to this forum and pleased to say i will be ordering a 2012 SG GT with Brembos, 3.73 gears and a glass roof within the next week. Im curious, i havent heard much talk about the return of sterling gray to the 2012 color palette. I have absolutely confirmed that SG is in fact back and is classified as "late availability" from the first dealer i tried to negotiate with a couple weeks ago. So i was wondering, has anybody ordered the 2012 SG GT yet and when can i expect to receive delivery of my new stang considering it is available late?

Sterling Grey? Me too!
Congrats on ordering your new Mustang.
I ordered mine the end of May. I've been patiently waiting since then for production to start on the Sterling Grey cars.
I ordered a 2012 SG/Saddle V6 MT6 Premium MCA with the V6 Performance Package. I also ordered the glass roof like you did.
I started thinking about getting a new Mustang when the 2011's came out. Sterling Grey was the color I wanted. When I decided to get a
2012 I was disapointed the SG had been dropped. I was going to get a Lava Red one but when I went to place the order for the car I saw that
Sterling Grey was going to be available again and decided to wait.
I've been waiting a little over three months now. I sure hope production starts soon.

They're finally starting the SG build!
Deysha from Ford Customer service just told me they're starting to schedule Sterling Grey Mustangs. I've been waiting since May 27th
to hear this. I hope mine will be one of the first.

SG Mustang
The color was brought back after the Tsunami in Japan affected some of the colors like Lava Red and Kona Blue something to do with an additive to the paint that they got from Japan. It's been on the books since May when I ordered my car. I hasn't been made public through the Ford website other than if you go to the customizer link you can pick it as one of the colors there. There have been some post on various Mustang forums talking about it also. I was looking at cars.com last night an some dealer already have some SG 2012's. Looks like they started building them the first week of October from the build dates I saw on the window stickers.

Ah so the Tsunami is what killed Kona Blue !? Kona Blue was my favorite but been browsing the SG ponies and I am really leaning towards this color now. I'm buying a 2013 so still waiting on the details so I can actually order.

supplies of the color. Ford actually diverted Kona Blue from other models
to Mustang to finish the 2012 model year. For 2013 they have
Deep Impact Blue as a replacement for Kona Blue. It doesn't appear to be
as dark as Kona Blue. I get lots of complements on the Sterling Grey/
Saddle combination of my car. I really liked the Sterling Grey/Brick Red
combo you could get on GT's don't know if the still offer that for 2013.
Couldn't get that combo on the V6's so I got Saddle instead.
