PW rear bumper color is off a little...

Anyone else have this issue on their PW Mustang? The rear bumper on mine at times looks a little on the tan'ish side compared to the rest of my car. I'm hoping I can have this taken care of under warranty, I've only had my '13 for two months.

My front bumper as well looks darker or a yellowish in low light in the garage. Ford knew the color was off, at least I would think they know and didnt care. If I had seen it I wouldn't have bought white. In the sun I can't tell. I have a 12 though, different white than the 13.

I noticed this at a car show I was at a couple of weeks ago. There were 4-5 white ('10-'12) mustangs there and I noticed it with the rear bumper cover on all but one of them (didn't see it on the front bumper covers, though).

Think it's because the bumpers are plastic whereas the rest of the car is steel.

Crazy how my Acura and Toyota white plastic looked the same as the steel white. Ford sucks, I own one lol I know.

For me it's show up mostly at dusk.

Thing is its not only the white cars. I've noticed it on the red candy cars from the years past. I've even noticed once on my 2007 Black GT.

Whaaat?! A black bumper being off from the rest of a black car. I've never owned a car that was black but that I gotta see to believe.

I was close to buying a black '14 performance package base v6, but it was 4 grand more than my current car, not making enough to afford that!

Seeing the other responses on this issue, I guess it's more common than I thought.

This was the first thing I noticed about my car. I asked the dealer why the bumper color was off because I thought it had been in an accident....Then I got rear ended and the repaint turned out a lot better than the original. Problem solved!

The Harbor Of Hospitality, as long as you stay out of the ghettos, it's a good place to live in.

Yes its due to the bumper material.

It's common on a number of cars - Infinitis, but they've got a lot better at it (with the corresponding jump in price)

Looked at a '14 a couple days ago with the low profile spoiler (that sits flat on the trunk lid) and not only was the rear 'bumper' surround a different shade just like my '10 was, the spoiler on this one was very obviously different. Not subtly different, either. Bad different.

I owned an '07 PW GT that spent very little time outside my garage and she stayed thoroughly hand-waxed and covered. If I drove it somewhere, it never sat in the broiling sun for very long. One day, an ignorant old woman backed across a parking lot and scuffed/wrinkled the front fascia, below the left foglight. Instead of getting it patched and repaired, I bought a "new take-off" replacement. The replacement fascia was yellowed, as compared to my car. I had a local body shop photograph-match my car's paint color. They painted the fascia and it looked exactly like the face she was born with.

The reason you see these differences between the body panels and the bumpers is that the bumpers are not painted with the car, but elsewhere in the facility. As is well known, different batches, even mixed with as much precision as possible, will be off a shade or two in most cases.

And in most cases, it's not very noticeable... unless the sun hits it right, or it's REALLY off.

But that's the reason factory bumpers don't match all the time.

The color on the rear bumper on my '12 is off as well. It's especially noticeable on overcast/cloudy days.
