Picked up my 2012 Kona GT today
Ordered on November 14 and it was delivered and picked up today .....
Traded my 2010 Sunset Gold GT in ..... it will be missed. Still trying to get used to opening the garage and seeing the Blue GT instead of the Gold one ..

Style wise it's identical to the 2010. I do notice that Ford did lower the quality on some interior items ....
The Leather on the steering wheel feels cheaper on the 2012 ... The Floor mats are thin and seem cheap compared to the 2010 Mats. While swapping out the dash panels from the 400a to the 401A panels .. it seems the glove box is made out of a Hard Plastic .. not a soft plastic like the 2010. I don't remember the console armrest being cushioned on the 2010 but it is on the 2012.
I will need to get used to the MT82 coming from the TR3650. The main thing is I had a Roush shifter in the 2010 .. short throw with distinct cannot miss shifts. As of right now I have only 50 miles on the 2012 .. but once in a while I am not sure of what gear I just went into until I drop the clutch and watch the RPMs.
Also .. when I first picked up the car the clutch grabbed very high ... after driving it to work today it seems to be getting better and now grabbing lower like the 2010 did.
I haven't beat on it yet .. but it is quick and will put you back in the seat ... pretty neat getting that supercharger feeling without a supercharger.
But I love the car ... ordered it exactly how I wanted with Glass Roof and Nav.
I am second guessing my choice on the 3.73 gears. I am in 5th by 50MPH with normal driving. I have been starting out in 2nd since first seems unnecessary during normal driving. Heck .. I accidently started in 3rd instead of 1st today when I left my driveway with no problem.

The shifter takes alittle getting used to. The gates are so close!! Best advice for not missing third is let it center itself and then a slight push into third works great!!

With the tranny you need to use a very light touch as it has strong 3rd/4th centering springs. Trust it and you will be fine. I've only missed a couple of shifts in mine. At WOT high rev shifts I've never missed. Try Redline MTL tranny fluid for a nice improvement in shifting.
As for the 3.73 gears I don't think you need them unless your going to the strip often. I think the 3.55's are probably a better choice for most. On a road course there is more than enough torque to lug the engine and still accelerate hard.

I've got the 3.55's and they are fine for daily driving. I think it is a nice compromise although sometimes I end up in 5th going 40 MPH. I'm also getting used to my first six-speed manual. I start from 2nd a lot (also avoids the skip shift).
+1 on having a light touch with the shifter and letting the centering springs do their thing. The gates are so close together.

Congrats again. Your gold 2010 was nice, but your kb 2012 is much better imo.
As for the shifter, I sound like a broken record but get the mgw. Your vagueness and unsure-what-gear-Ness will go away. Trust me on that. You will love the Mt82... LOL.
As for the gears, I tested the 3.55 and 3.31... There is a very large gap between those and the 3.73. I love mine and wouldn't have it any other way. Mileage goes down, but I don't care. I start off in 2nd sometimes, but went back to starting in 1st. After all this IS a mustang and should be driven as such. . FYI I have been averaging 14 mpg... But i can't keep my foot off the gas... Lol

For those that still have skip shift enabled it only takes a few minutes to unplug the solenoid and secure the cables. Once done you'll never have to think about skip shift again.
