Kona Purple

Does anyone else have a good shot of the color-changing properties of the Kona Blue paint?

I took this one a while back...not the most flattering picture but it's one of the few that captures both colors at once.

FWIW, the colors in the picture are just about exactly how it looked with the naked eye. The low sun angle seems to be the determining factor.

I love the color of this car...and before you say anything, remember that purple muscle cars have a long history.

The best way I've been able to see the different shades is at night under certain lighting. There's a local car wash here with florescent lighting that makes the colors pop. It reminds me of the mystic green the Cobra got painted almost with the different shades. The first night I saw that gave me a whole new appreciation for Kona.

Cool...can you try to snap a picture next time you're there?
I wonder if that particular flourescent lighting has a strong UV component...

That's what I was thinking because it never happens at gas stations which have similar lighting. I can try and get some pics next time I'm there.

I will try and get a pic tonight of my car and upload it. But you are right, it does look purple at dusk and in my garage.

Very cool shot... I like that the paint is a little bit more than what you see is what you get.

Well put. The paint really keeps its visual interest longer...the car always looks great but sometimes it really surprises you.

It's a nice day out and I'm off. Gonna wash her up one last time before she goes away. I'll try and get some good pics.

I tried getting a couple pics at the car wash tonight but it was so cold that the bay steamed up.

Ha... well, thanks for trying!!

I'll check mine out next time it's under flourescent lights...though the lights at your car wash sound like they might be special...Anyway, like you, mine goes to bed for the winter...not telling how much longer we'll have these nice/reasonably warm days and dry/salt free roads!!
