Finally did mine today. I first used a clay bar, then Black Fire gloss polish, and Wet Diamond to finish it off. My annoying swirls are nearly gone. The finished look is amazing! Pics don't do it any justice.

Did you apply it all by hand?

Yes and my arms feel like jello now. The polish was the hardest. It didn't dry quickly and left a bit of a haze at first. I bought a 6 pack of microfiber polishing clothes and used 5 of them. If you're going to do the polish I would reccommend a buffer. I thought I wouldn't need one, man was I wrong. Maybe if I let it dry longer it wouldn't have been such a PITA. Polishing took about an hour and a half and I only did the hood, roof, and trunk lid because that's where my swirls were. I learned that just a little goes a long way for both.

The Wet Diamond was a breeze, went on smoothly and off even smoother. I used Wet Diamond on the whole car. I applied both with a microfiber pad and buffed off with a microfiber cloth.

After I was done I used the Black Fire gloss spray detailer for a finishing touch. That will come in handy for in between washes too. I also used the Black Fire wheel cleaner which really brought out the shine on the wheels.

The whole process was tedious, but at least I won't have to do it again for a while. The Wet Diamond has got to be the best I've used, especially for the Kona it really brings out the color. Meguires worked well but can't compare to the shine.

That is weird. I have never ever heard of BF leaving a haze, never. How did you prep your car? With it being a sealant, you can't have any previous wax on your car. Mine dries within 5 minutes. Was it humid where you live?

IMO it's the best stuff out there.

You must of only read the first part. The polish left a haze initially.....not Wet Diamond. The Wet Diamond was the easiest part.

For prep it was washed, clay bar'd, and then washed again. There was no wax on the car. It was a little humid and I probably didn't give the polish(not wet diamond) enough time to dry.

Hmm. I may be wrong, but I thought the wet diamond went on first because it's the actualy paint sealant. After WD, then polish's, wax's, etc should be applied. Maybe I need to research blackfire's web site. lol

Car looks great!

You've got it backwards.

You first want to wash and clean the surface, then remove any imperfections via polish. Once you have the surface back to a shine, you protect it with a sealant/wax.

I got caught in some rain on a 30 mile ride yesterday and I have to say I'm impressed. The car is not spotted bad at all and I don't have to urge to wash it right away. We all know how the Kona looks after a little rain. This just made it worth the cost.

I just spent the better part of yesterday doing the g/f's '09 Mazda6 with BFWD. After a clay and a coat of this stuff, the car (silver) looked better than new.

Some of the older Blackfire turned plastics white. Does the newer concoction have the same problem?

Why would you be putting it on plastic?

I don't know if the kind of plastic matters but I recently bough their Wet Diamond sealant and it doesn't stain any of my Mustang's black trim that it gets on. And I use it over the semi-gloss vinyl stripes without any problems. This is the best product I have seen. It has the best shine of any sealant or wax I've used (everything sold in retail stores, plus Zaino, Acrylic Jett, etc.). Its ridiculously easy to use. The pro reviews say the same thing.

It's long lasting but there are some longer lasting products if you don't mind giving up some gloss. But it's so fast and easy to use I don't mind throwing another layer on a little more often.

Not intentionally...

Sometimes, it's hard to keep it off the trim.

Only downside is that NASA called and asked me to park it inside during the day. Seems the reflections were blinding some com sats.
