My 2011 V6 came in today
I got the call at work today, my 2011 came in. But I had to work and they closed at 6:00, so no time to do the paperwork and negotiations. I did get there in time to check it out and take a couple of pics.
.
Shane my salesguy came out and talked to me while I was taking pics. He said it was ok to drive it home until the Sunday purchase day. So I got the rest of my stuff out of the '05, and took it home. I decided on an area for a testdrive, took the highway to try to get there. Unfortunately, there was an 1 car wreck on this stretch of highway, which I thought was usually low on traffic. This happened right before my exit. The highway was shut down totally. I sat there for at least 45 minutes. Good time to program the stereo. It just rained, so the grassy median was wet and muddy. There was nowhere to go, so I saw a few 4wd trucks and SUVs do uturns. Then the rwd Ford Astro van in front of me tried it, I yelled, "Noooo nooo, bad idea!" Of course he got stuck, was still stuck there a half hour later by the time I got to the paved turnaround place.
The rest of the commute wasn't much easier, traffic and construction eveywhere, people getting tickets, bad driving night. I did get to punch it a few times, felt strong, but no more tham I expected. And I did turn off TC, first thing I did. So I finally got it home and called it a night.
So, here is the timeline:
Order date: April 19th
Build date: May 23rd
Arrived: June 4th

Yeah, I wasn't expecting that. Getting ready for negotiations in a couple of hours. I dread this part almost as bad as going to the dentist, I suck at negotiating.

It all worked out well. They even sold my '05 Screaming Yellow already, I've seen other used Mustangs that have been on that lot much longer. The guy who bought it loved the MRT exhaust I was told. I figured that was a love it or hate it type of thing. The sales guy didn't tell me how much he sold it for though, he stammered some when I asked, then said, "Hmm, I forget." I bet!

I noticed this when I went to New Hampshire to see a V6 last weekend. If I remember correctly it it didn't have the pony or MCA package. It was all of 23k.

Pause this video at 21 seconds and look at the exhaust you can see what im talking about
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHcY6...eature=related
then heres a pic of orange3.9stang's V6 MCA
https://themustangsource.com/attachm...-must-pp-2.jpg
Its a bad angle but it looks different to me.
If you stop the video at 1:21 you can get a similar angle to the picture
Maybe im going insane? I am new to the forum and all lol
Hopefully I can make it back to NH this week and take a picture of the exhaust on the car I saw

Either way you slice it, that's the normal exhaust on all V6's. There may be slight variation in the way one pipe is bent, say an inch in either direction, if so- (which is doubtful) it's trivial. I think it's just the angles in which you're seeing the exhaust.

The backside, my blackout strip (or decklid panel) was ordered for the car. Didn't arrive with it. It's supposed to be on order, they thought I would have it last week, but it hasn't arrived yet. Also, I put "V6" on the back. It was very inexpensive, so I can take it off if I decide I don't like it, they just stuck on there. I think it looks ok, but we'll see what others think. I just put it there, not on the sides.

Exhaust tip ...
Saw my name mentioned, so I thought I'd chime in ...
Tips as supplied from the factory on my car are 3.5" dia. Polished 304 S.S. and taper slightly as they get to the mufflers ... I'm REAL happy with the looks of them.
I swear I remember seeing not as nice V6 tips on either the pre-production show cars and/or the media cars that came out at the end of March, so I was pleasantly surprised to see these !!

Wow quite different than what I've got ... but that look is what I remember from the pre-production cars.
Maybe the Premium models or just MCA and/or Pony get these nicer tips ??
Or they put GT mufflers on mine by mistake ... can't beilieve they would interchange though as the GT supposedly has 2.75" pipes where mine has 2.25".
Very interesting to say the least !!
