Nelsonoj5 Black 50 Project!!

So I've decided to not blow up #Backinblack13's project thread with MY pics anymore lol. I'm Making this thread to update all you Mustang fanatics on my personal project. From stock to where I'm at now, and to where I'm going with it. If you have any questions on my mods let me know! I'm glad to help as much as I can!

From stock, Black 5.0 Premium, manual trans, saddle leather, Brembo Pkg, 3.31 gears.

The first thing I did was buy a JLT oil separator and got my hands on some Flow Master Outlaw Axle back exhaust, the aggressive sounds and popping when I shift is awesome! I have had a little fun with the stock tires since I had new ones coming in! I didn't take pics of the oil separator or the exhaust though, sorry! they are very very easy to install though!

I got the Ford Racing "P" Springs for a small drop. I am not a big fan of the Mustangs that are super low and it looks like the tires are almost inside the wheel wells. The "P" springs gave me a subtle nice drop, kept the nice stance, and they do give your car a little better handling when you're turning. Installation was not very difficult. I suggest you go to a shop so they can compress your front springs, doing it yourself is pretty dangerous. Also don't forget to get an alignment when you're done!

Time for new rims and tires!! I ordered the SVE Drift wheels in flat balck. Fronts are 18x9 Rears are 18x10. I went with a smaller rim simply to have a bigger selection of tires, and better prices! For tires I went with Nitto NT05, I have 275/18/40 on the front and 295/35/18 on the rear. Gotta have rubber on the road to go FAST!! I like the flat black rather than gloss because the gloss black rims just blend right into the black paint of the car. With flat black you can actually see the rim!

As of today I have 3200 miles on the car! I got the MRT rear window louver and I really like it! makes the car look really mean IMHO. Took it for a ride today and started getting on it hard! with my 3.31 gear ratio, I'm happy to announce I got a great 0-60 time! 4.6 seconds! pretty good for stock engine!

Mods to come- I've got a solid aluminum driveshaft sitting in the garage waiting to go on! no more 2 piece! MGW short throw shifter is back ordered so it will be a while before I get that on. I have flat black 5.0 emblems but I haven't put them on because I think I like the chrome better, idk if i'll ever change em lol! I plan on buying the OEM Shelby spoiler, Side window louvers, JLT Air intake, and SCT tuner alonf with some 3.73 gears.

I have not gone to the track yet just because I want it to be all set and ready to go! the driveshaft and shifter will be put in on the same day so I'll update you all when things get rolling again!

Great looking car! Love build threads. You've done very tasteful mods and it sounds like you've got more good ones coming. Black mustangs are awesome!

Rear window louvers only look good on black cars IMO. The drifts look great!

Lol yes it was!! Wore down about 40% of the stock tires lol!! Louvers would look really good on yours if you keep a green and black theme.

Well I got my MGW short throw shifter on last night!! The process was not difficult at all, it was just a time consuming task. Fortunately I had a buddy let me use his lift, doing the shifter on jack stands would have SUCKED!!!! Took about 2 1/2 hours to finish the install.

I only took a few photos because my hands were way to greasy and dirty to keep grabbing my GS3 lol

How much were the springs and where did you order them from? Thinking about doing that.

I got the springs for $200 from americanmuscle.com. you'll also have to spend a little more to have a shop compress the front springs to get them on your struts. Cost me $100 because the shops around me are A holes.
