Tony kisses TOYOTA Bye-Bye

Tony Stewart announced today he is leaving Gibbs Racing, and more importantly, TOYOTA. He will be driving for Haas Racing, with some ownership. Oh, and he'll back in a CHEVROLET again.

Wait until Dave MTAS chimes in. If I remember right, he'll have an opinion.

Yeah. When he made that Armor All commercial they sure didn't use a Camry did they? Tony is a GM Chevy guy where as Kyle and Denny couldn't care less.

GM should've focus more on bringing Kyle Busch back to Chevy instead of Stewart. Stewart is 37 years old, his time in NASCAR is over. Hendrick shouldn't let Busch leave in the first place.

Reminds me alot of Ford pissing away Kahne right before/as they lost a bunch of vets and their teams fell flat on their faces. NEVER let go of young, proven talent.

He was under contract through Yates, but Yates' two cars were filled with Jarret and Sadler. Yates wasn't able or willing to create a third team or fire either driver at the time, so Dodge swooped in. They got the contract voided by arguing that it wasn't fair for Kahne to have to wait indefinitely for a ride at Yates when Dodge had one all ready to go, and the rest is history.

They do?

They have more wins so far this year than anyone else.

8 in Sprint (18 races).
14 in Nationwide (20 races).
5 in Truck (12 races).

That's pretty impressive.

Zoran, that may be, but in all honesty, NASCAR is an AMERICAN car series, and letting a Japanese manufacturer in (which PI$$ED OFF ALOT of fans), is like letting a Mustang or Challenger in the JGTC (Japan Grand Touring Car) racing, which, is NOT ALLOWED! Only same country manufacturers are allowed in there (at least the last time I checked). I know I'm alone with being mad at them being in NASCAR!!!

Now, before you go and say anything about what I posted, I don't really follow NASCAR a whole lot anymore (after Davey died a long time ago, and I was a young kid when he did, and liked him ALOT, I lost interest), and only see highlights on SPEED, and chat with the service manager at work on Monday about the past race. I for one like F1!

I agree with you, I didn't wanna see Toyota in a NASCAR either.

But they got in, went through hell last season and now are better than anyone else which is pretty much GM's fault since those idiots decided to let Kyle Busch go.

Vipers and Porsches have raced in JGTC.

I like ALL forms of racing and I have no issue with Toyota in NASCAR. My issue is NASCAR has become more of a spec series. True manufacturer diversity would be a welcome addition.

Haas newer confirmed that. Newman is one of their options, but so are many other drivers like Truex and Bowyer.

But Newman will probably end up in Haas.
