Things I wish/want in racing . . .

Just some wishes/wants in my perfect world of racing. What are yours?

I want a All-Star Sports car race (12hrs) at some point in the year at Le Mans (without the chicanes on the Mulsanne Straight) with 5-7 cars from SPEED GT, Grand-Am GT/Cup, Aussie V8 Supercars, JGTC, FIA GT, WTCC, & ALMS GT.

I want Champ Car & IRL to merge, race again at Mid-Ohio & Pocono & allow F1 cars to race in the Indy 500.

I would like ALMS and Grand-Am to also merge.

I wish Ford would enter Le Mans with a full factory effort. (LMP1)

I wish NASCAR would use the engines found in the Daytona Prototypes (Sorry Dodge) and use air jacks, and at least stock hoods/roofs/deck lids for the cars.

I want at least two more road courses on the NASCAR Nextel Cup Schedule and take off the schedule at least 4-5 cookie cutter tracks.

I would like to see F1 cars race at Road America and Barbers.

I would like to see a full Ford Factory effort in NHRA Pro-Stock. (Using a Ford engine.)

I want another SPEED TV channel without NASCAR programming.

I would like a WRC round in the USA.

I'm all for it, except for the ALMS/Grand Am merger. They both do their own thing, and I love 'em both. The Rolex DPs simply don't have anything near the technology and raw performance of the LMP cars, but they do put on a heckuva good race. Apples and Oranges. Actually, I'd like to see the Rolex DP and GT cars be split up, except maybe for the endurance races. Same with GS and ST in GA Cup.

I agree with the Apples to Oranges comparison. I just think a single series would be better with a cross section of both series.

Although I could wish for more factory involvement in the LMP1 class of ALMS. That would make me feel better. I do enjoy the diversity of the DP's.

Im with ya on the WRC in the states. That would be awesome. I would also like to see more WRC on Speed. They used to have it all the time. Now you hardly ever see it.

Speaking of coverage, who's covering the Baja 500.
