Patrick To Race Full-Time In NASCAR In 2012
Danica Patrick will go NASCAR racing full-time starting next year, trading her open wheel car for a fleet of full-bodied Chevrolet Impala machines. While it wasn't exactly the worst kept secret in motorsports, there's no denying that Patrick will bring in a lot of new fans and hype into stock car racing.
She'll compete full-time in the Nationwide Series driving the No. 7 GoDaddy.com Chevy from JR Motorsports, the same entry which she's dabbled with since 2010.

School Bus Yellow heels? Really? I mean, seriously, they clash with the car, and that outfit can be heard screaming outrage.
Nice car though.
/don't care, honestly. The Chase has befouled the mighty awesomeness that was NASCAR.
//And she's another Earnhardt Jr. All flash, no substance. I like her moxie, she just can't compete correctly at this level.

That's Nationwide. No offense to those who run it, but even including the Sprint Cup drivers, it's like minor league. She should do good there, she's good enough for that. Big boys are in Sprint.
It's like Michael Andretti going to F1. Disasterous, and I knew it would be when he did it.
But hey, proof's in the pudding, and she's easy on the eyes, so whatevs, NASCAR, whatevs.

Yep, and she is in good equipment as well. Jr motorsports is an extension of Hendricks. She might do half way decent in the minor leagues but when she climbs in a cup car she will get her clocked clean like nothing you have ever seen before. This is a publicity stunt and all about money. She has no business in a cup car buy hey if it sells t shirts and raises tv ratings.......

I'm not Danica fan, but majority of successful Sprint Cup drivers started at Nationwide series. What will happen in Sprint Cup, we'll find out in the future. But I think it's unfair to say that she's gonna be unsuccessful when in fact she drove, so far, less than 15 NASCAR races in her career.
Drivers like Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and many other Sprint Cup drivers got their start at Nationwide series ...

Well, they dont really talk about her in Indy Car anymore, its like she already left the building, and so this is big news for the Nationwide series and Nascar. She has 1 win, right? Japan, so... I dont know how she will do..

Her going full time in Cup racing is just one more step (in the long list of many) of NASCAR becoming the motorsports version of pro wrestling. She's nothing more than a spectacle to draw attention. I'd be shocked if she ever wins a race, even if you gave her the best equipment available.
IMO, the last time NASCAR was real was around 1992, since then I speculate that it was "shaped" for ratings and money at best, and outright rigged at worst. Probably somewhere in the middle truth be known.

Kulwicki and Allison. That was a major blow to the sport. And to Ford in the sport.

Oh, well, she should totally clean up...
/Not Sprint Cup? What's the fuss then? I mean... really.
//Like saying that, oh, Chris Johnson decided to go to Arena Football rather than play with the Titans. Yes it's news... but not 'The Decision' news, like this seemed to be.
///silly. But then, she's a GIRL.
//// I probably deserved that.

Kyle Petty said it best. "Just because you are fast doesn't mean you can drive."
