In that vein, I wish this lady had had a bit more success.

Anyway, I like this lady, and she isn't bad on the eyes either. I just have to give her props for being bold enough to be a real driver and want to race.

they shouldn't be out there unless they plan on runnng the whole race. It must be somewhat profitable otherwise they wouldn't do it. what is the purpose of start and park anyway? Just to make a few bucks?

I don't know much about NASCAR or any of its series' but from what I read, the lower teams will do this just to get a last place finish or thereabouts because the pay out is almost the same from 16th on back. So they don't want to take the chance at ruining a car or any of its parts if they don't have to. It's like making money but only a tad over sustainable. Imagine if you demolish a few hundred thousand dollar car and end out getting back a few thousand dollars. It just is a loss, like a business model. Even wealth classes in racing are making the gap a crap load wider. Either your sponsor is filthy rich or just getting by. This sounds just like our country but that's not for this chat.

This explains it pretty well, (even though its from '09)

For example, yesterdays race paid $75,769 for last place.

I'll be honest, I kinda hate seeing her in the glamour shots (though she is pretty good looking), but it just means that they'll make a show out of her just because she's an attractive woman in racing, nevermind her ability. They've already kinda started on her with the Lilly sponsorship and the pink suit. If she's good, let her race, and dont promote her just because she's a woman. Danica is pretty bad, but is all over the news all the time because of her being a woman.
It's good for the sport, but dont make it the only reason she's there.

Especially compared to Danica Patrick, Danica is the only who got more spotlight than any other Nationwide driver and she keeps crashing in pretty much every race she drove. She's so overrated. She's driving for one of the best teams in Nationwide series (while Jennifer is on week to week basis, depending if they can find a sponsor) and she still sucks. I can't imagine how bad she would be if she has same equipment like Jenn does.

I really hate when people claim Danica has talent...that she may, but not enough. The only race she won was because her crew chief had a great fuel strategy. She only proves to me that she can't handle the pressure in intense racing.

Danican't is a no-talent hack.

WOW . . . I didn't know finishing Top 10 in points of IndyCar makes one a "no-talent hack!"
I think she has talent . . .sorry if you "hate" that, but she does. Not the best or the most talent, but she can drive a race car. And I really don't care for her antics at times, but I sure wouldn't besiege her to the level that some have.
And if Ms. Cobb wouldn't have wrecked the car in the prior race, perhaps she wouldn't have had to make the decision she did. However, I commend her for the decision.

Jason, do you think any male driver would get as much attention (or any attention at all) as Danica did for same results?
Let's face it, all those so-called fans of her know her from GoDaddy.com commercials, but I'm pretty sure they don't know what team she drives for or where her only win happened.
I don't think it's really fair to compare Danica and Jenn in NASCAR. Danica drives for JR Motorsports, one of top teams in Nationwide series, which gets engines from Hendrick Motorsports, the best NASCAR team over the past 30 years. Brad Keselowski finished 3rd in points in his rookie season with this car. And Danica has what, 1 Top 10 finish and the rest are below 30th place finishes due to crashing.
