The production-based 2.2-liter, four-cylinder, dual-stage turbocharged engine is expected to power a pair of factory entries in the new, semi-experimental GX class, and to have a presence in at least one P2 car at the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The SpeedSource-run diesel GX program will be the first of its kind for the Rolex Series.

Supposedly the cars are pushing 400hp. Not too shabby for a 4 cyl. diesel. Should make for an exciting new race class competing against Lotus and a few other manufacturers.

Considering their history with diesel-powered race cars at Le Mans, surprised VW/Audi hasn't yet announced a contender to take on the SkyactivD Mazda. The 6 looks great as a race car and hope it does well.

I'm assuming it's rear wheel drive? The new Mazda 6 is a really great looking car with it's long hood and short rear deck, it looks like it should be RWD.
