It was truly a good weekend for Ford Racing. Ford powered race cars won on Friday and Sunday. The infield fan crowd was said to have been the largest ever. Maybe the economy is improving. All commentators agreed it was probably the best and most competitive 24 hour race at Daytona. I liked seeing the small teams dominate for once. I enjoyed the race greatly.
Congratulations to Michael Shenk Racing on the win.

I'm moving this again . . . to the 'Ford Motorsports' section! And I am merging with some other threads . . . but I'll keeps the links for a couple of days.
Great win and great race! I am so glad MSR won! Although I was also pulling for McNish . . .

During the first few hours of the race, there was not a lot of focus on the leading Ford Prototype. The commentators were mostly talking about how good the Corvette bodied prototypes were and how they would be the car to beat. The Corvette corral was full. The GM official was overly optimistic. At the end of the race the commentaors got caught up in the excitement of the race and just could not hold back their praise for how well the Ford protypes ran. It was great to see them show so much excitement for the Ford win.

Lets hope that the high dollar teams dont succeed in getting the sanctioning body to slow the Fords down too much. Wayne Taylor did imply the Ford teams were sandbagging.
