The DeltaWing Racing Cars squad, owned by American Le Mans Series founder Don Panoz, unveiled the show car at Sebring today ahead of the return to the track of the revised version of the car that made its debut in last year's Le Mans 24 Hours.
The coupe will be built around a bespoke monocoque developed at Panoz's Elan Motorsports Technologies facility that will replace the Aston Martin AMR-One tub of the original car.
A race debut of for the DeltaWing coupe has been pencilled in for round three of the ALMS at Laguna Seca in May.

Elan has developed a new two-litre engine based around the architecture and cylinder head of a Mazda power pant to replace the Nissan unit.

Freaky thing is... it wasn't doing too badly, at least, the '12 didn't. I'm sure they've made some sort of improvements, the bubble notwithstanding, to make it even better...?

Should be interesting... but yeah, freakin' ugly. Form doesn't always follow function, looks like.
/The beauty of form following function is defined in the aircraft industry as the Boeing 727. Slide rule created, Jammed to the gills with fancy lifting devices... such a beautiful aircraft. My favorite airliner of all time.
//IMO, of course. The -200 variant specifically wins, although the shorty -100 isn't bad either. The 200 just looks much more better.
