Another bust this weekend for Ford in Nascar & Indycar racing

Although . . . I wonder how much the (turbo PSI) "wick" could be turned up on a race prepped 2.2L 4-Cylinder "EcoBoost" engine based on the 2.3L?! If FMC envisions that 60% of vehicles will have 4-Cylinder engines by 2020 perhaps they are working on a Turbo-4 for IndyCar (seems to make more marketing sense) . . . . nothing in the rules stating IndyCar engines have to be 6-Cylinders . . .
Or . . . perhaps they are waiting (if at all) for the 2.5L V6 Ecoboost to come to the market . . . wouldn't take much to get it to 2.2L . . . Pt. II

I think it would be rather costly for Ford to develop an engine for Indy. I would rather see Ford put more effort behind existing engines like those used in the Continental tire series for sedans like Mustangs.

Its possible they'd take another look when the Nano arrives, but IndyCar would make them wait until the next engine cycle and who knows what that spec will end up like.

I would like to see Ford winning anything to be honest, at least yesterday Logano won the Nationwide race in a Mustang
From listening to his comments after the race he really has it in for that Toyota team he drove for...Anyone know why?

This thread is valid for yet another week. I only watched the first 80 laps of the race and concluded the Ford racers were not competitive enough to win the Dover race. After 80 laps, there was only one Ford racer in the top 15 positions ( Keslowski was running about 8 th place ). As it turned out, no Ford racer ever lead a lap. I guess NASCAR must now feel they have parity that no Ford racer lead a lap. I would be ashamed to admit I was a Ford fan if I was at the Dover race.

According to this Serbian web-site, after Honda, Ford is next in the line to return to the F1 ... Possibly in 2015.

I was watching speed channel tonight and they are also talking about Ford not doin a **** thing in Nascar this year, they say Ford is asking for changes to the front end of the Fusions...France probably wont allow it and if they didnt and I was head of racing for Ford I would tell Nascar to shove it.

If it were a case of the basic shape being a disadvantage, they wouldn't even be placing. It would be like the old days when you'd have the fastest car brand with like 2-3 laps on everyone else by the end of Superspeedway races. This sounds more like some tweaks that Ford wants to tweak the splitter or adjust the size of the holes in the lower valence.

I didn't see/hear the broadcast . . . if you have a link stating as much please share. You are probably correct. FMC is the only manufacturer to use a production front grill (by their own design) and it would be disappointing to see "spec" changes begin to happen . . . again . . .

It was good to see Trevor Bayne chase down the leader in the Nationwide race in Iowa and go on to win the race. In Sprint Cup racing, the Ford race cars still are not fast enough to get the lead.

I watched the Nationwide race in Iowa and did not see the start of the Sprint Cup race at Pocono. I heard Carl Edwards did lead the first nine laps. Maybe Carl will have a stronger car for Michigan.
