2012 "New" Daytona Prototype?

If this is the "new" DP it sure doesn't look much different. Maybe a little longer?

Grand Am is introducing a redesigned Daytona Prototype next season, which is what is being tested at Barber. Teams from both Grand Am and the Continental Tire Series are participating.

There could be a lot more changes under the skin, too.

I understand there are technical changes to the chassis (I suppose I should have clarified my post), but we (racing public), or at least "I," were led to believe the cars would look better . . . if only a little better.

True... but at least the driver isn't sitting in-between the front wheels like the Audi LeMans cars!

The view from inside is terrible, except for dead-straight ahead! They have a hard time seeing into the corners because all they can see are the wheel arches. The announcers for LeMans commented on that a couple of times.

I'm not sure if that didn't factor in to the two Audi's crashing out like they did.
