Umm . . . Eights . . . I view and manage this section of TMS as an active and comprehensive "Motorsports" section. Thus, I place many topics that may not deal directly with FMC into this section.

A slight improvement over this year, but still a work in progress. They're still working on getting Surfer's added to the schedule. They want to pair that up with Motegi to save on the cost of shipping the cars across the Pacific. That one's complicated by the fact that they co-headline with the Aussie V-8s, and getting those schedules to sync up.
I'd expect to see the schedule further improved in the next few years as various track's contracts come up for renewal. I think a doubleheader with ALMS at Road America would be huge. I'd love to see them come back to Cleveland, possibly with ALMS, but not at the expense of Mid-Ohio's date, and not on the same weekend that GA is at Mid-O. I'd also love to see them come back to MIS, despite my misgiving about ISC, but I think it would be a choice between that and Detroit, which is Penske's baby. I'm not sure that Barber's would be a good track for them. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful facility, but better suited to motorcycles than big open wheel cars. Road Atlanta would be awesome, though. Maybe as a support race for Petit?

Barber stats:
2.38 miles long
45’ wide
16 turns, most of which are flowing
80’ of elevation change
They run GAC and Koni Challenge cars there, and yeah its tight, they built the track to run cars on it. IRL has tested there I believe last year. Id love to see it personally.
I also heard a rumor that they may extend the track??? Or maybe someone was talking about a different track and I am just not remembering correct.

Evil_Capri: Why not open an "Other Racing" topic, or some title that indicates this is a topic about classes of racing where Mustangs probably won't be found on the starting grid (open-wheeled events, Top Fuel events, and a few others...)? It doesn't have to be done that way, of course, but since the other topics are pretty specifically delineated it would be consistent with the organization level of the site to go this way...
But then again, WTF...
But then again, WTF...

I don't see anything wrong with voicing one's opinion. That's what makes this a great forum. There is merit to Eight's concern, but I'm not sure enough to designate another section. A simple name change may be the solution or an understanding and acceptance of the current format.
