Well I did it.................

Traded my 2012 Boss for a new never titled 2011 GT500 Race Red white stripes! Had 14.5 miles on it when we took it for a test drive. Has 125 on it now

Very happy with the deal I got. $47500 for the Shelby and they gave me $40000 for the Boss plus a full tank of gas and 1 free oil change. After I got it home I looked at the build date and tomorrow is its 2nd birthday.

Love the shifter on the Shelby. Very tight and precise, a bit longer throw than the Boss but never a doubt about what gear you're in.

The Boss pulled like a mad man from zero and never quit, the Shelby is a little more subtle at first but still plenty of power.

Only thing I'd change right now are the seats. The recaro seats are the most comfortable I've sat in. The Shelby aren't bad and if I hadn't tried anything else I'd be very happy with them, but they just don't hug you like I got used to.

The exhaust is much quieter than the Boss with the side plates removed so I may have to look into something to correct that at a later date.

If someone would clue me in on how to post pics I can get a couple up tomorrow.

Can I ask why you would trade in the boss for a shelby?

It's a GT500, I thought the reason was pretty obvious.

I've wanted a Shelby since I was a kid. Always been just outta reach, so when the Boss came out and I saw that it was in my price range I jumped. Then I saw this Shelby and made a stupid low offer in my opinion and the bit.........

So I now own a shelby

Small world. I looked at it briefly during my Boss search but they still wanted too much. Eventually they got tired of looking at it I guess.

Yeah, they have your red Boss sitting where this one has been for a while..I stopped and drove through the dealership while going to the store....how many miles were on the Boss?

Glad you were able to deal with them...I have never been able to get a decent trade in from them...on the car I traded for my mustang, a 2008 Tiburon GT with only 12,800 miles on it, i got almost $2,000 more going to a dealership south of Dekalb. My cost for the Mustang was fixed being I had the X-Plan pricing so it all came down to trade in value. After they lowballed me I took the sales guy out to show him what the guy that test drove it never noticed, that the car was even like new under the hood, inside door jams, etc..never driven in winter, etc..so they lost a sale, even though they are only 5 miles from my house. Same thing happened to me about 17 years ago while looking at conversion vans ( I had 4 small kids at the time), I got over $2,000 more for my trade elsewhere...I told the sales guy I won't even bother going there anymore, at least if i also have a trade...maybe if I just buy a new car without trade since my cost is fixed on that.

Had 2800 miles on it and was good as new. They didn't even have to detail it before they parked it inside. It's comp orange, by the way.

This is the second car we bought from them. First was a long time ago. On this deal I think they were just tired of seeing the same car sit there for so long. They said they sold a 12 Shelby and couldn't move this one. Guess race red is not too popular around here.

Oh well, I'm happy.

If I would have had the coin, I would have grabbed the 2012 Silver Shelby vert that Brian Bemis Ford in Dekalb had up to a few weeks ago...he had dropped the price to $48,400...great price but still too rich for me...but it was a beautiful car.

Sorry about mistaking the color...only saw it through the tinted dealer windows as I drove through the parking lot. Good luck with the new one...it is a great car.

Good luck getting close to that price. They gave me $40000 nad that's about all it's worth as a used car. I did have the windows tinted

They told me it was going straight to the auction.

Ford20 I would have sold it to you for $40000. Call emup and offer that to em and see what they say
