Trunk tie-down
There must be several solutions out there to securing items in the GT500 trunk. Temporarily I'm using a dirt bike tie down that I used with my Husky in the great Southern CA dirt bike days.
Has anyone installed a net like the ones sold in auto parts stores? The two attach points just inside the trunk are too close together & are weak plastic IMO.
I love base music, but that sub in the trunk sure takes up a lot of room!

I don't have to run errands in wife's '09C6 anymore but cannot easily remove anything from either car inside 2 car garage, so anything picked up must go in back of either & get removed from trunk (or back of Vette). The Vette has a great cargo net that works great! I drive my new Shelby a bit more spirited than I did my last muscle car ('69 Firebird 400 vert). Wife decided last night not to ride with me after killing an Evo & playing with a Gt3RS stupidly with her in car & groceries sliding around in trunk! NEED CARGO NET!
Devious_Stang, when I asked you on 8/6/12 to report in one week how things come out, I was referring to Leticia!

Cargo net
I contacted Ford, Snoopy49, and there is a Mustang cargo net, P/N 5R3Z63550A66-AA. Dealer price $50, so far Internet price $40+ shp. If I buy & install, I'll learn to post pics!

Thanks Snoopy49,
Cargo net, locking gas plug & gas funnel ordered from Tousley.
I'll report when installed.
Devious, no cargo net will hold all that much that a growing family needs. I saw no infant diapers in your trunk in preparation,LOL! I now have to drive wife in her '09C6 auto due to my lack of discipline in '13 GT500!

Do you have a part number for it?

Due to need for just right OD of pump nozzle or this funnel, adding gas with a gas can will be rejected by the cap-less fuel port. Small attempt by Ford to reject mischief. I hope the bad guys don't get this funnel!
The Ford funnel P/N 8U5Z17B068B will adapt any non-pump gas source for adding gas to tank! I will keep the funnel in Shelby's trunk for gas can emergencies. It costs less than $5 for this ease of mind!

I don't know if I'll have the guts to take the Shelby to the store or not.

From the 2013 Mustang Owners Manual - Page 154
Note: Do not use aftermarket funnels; they will not work with the capless fuel system and can damage it. The included funnel has been specially designed to work safely with your vehicle.
When filling the vehicle’s fuel tank from a portable fuel container, use the funnel included with the vehicle.
1. Locate the white plastic funnel in the spare tire compartment.
2. Slowly insert the funnel into the capless fuel system.
3. Fill the vehicle with fuel from the portable fuel container.
4. When done, clean the funnel or properly dispose of it. Extra funnels can be purchased from your authorized dealer if you choose to dispose of the funnel.

Thanks Snoopy49, the $4.16 one I just ordered will be a spare. LOL! I'll check my trunk.
I did find my wheel locks at the bottom of my console storage which need installing. Now to find my torque wrench to apply the 100 ft-lbs!

OK, after discussions with Ford & my local Ford dealer, I finally created a useful cargo net installation in my trunk.
Two problems had to be overcome. First, the instructions that came with the Ford cargo net that I ordered from Touisley Ford (best price I could find on Internet) did not match what I found in my trunk. Second, the Shaker Pro sub in my trunk takes up the right quarter of the trunk.
I successfully overcame these problems & will share my solutions with anyone else wanting to mount a Ford cargo net in your trunk. Just make your request on this thread.
I can now drive with items in the trunk & not fear all will fly around on spirited errands. With 1049 miles on it finally, I will now give it more gas in gears 2-5. 1st gear is next challenge & I haven't found a use for 6th yet!
