What exactly is the SVT PP? Is a deal breaker or not? I've found plenty of both out there but loving the wider stripes of the non PP cars. Thanks guys

It's thin stripes, stripe less shift ****, upgraded shocks, spoke style staggered wheels 20 rear 19 front, 373's and no, it's not a deal breaker. I passed on the PP and just bought the FRHP3

if you're going to spend that much in the first place, you may as well get it. The springs and shocks plus tires can make a huge difference. I'd get it, but that's me.

I saved money by not getting it and getting a better suspension than the PP for less

yes, but you also didnt get the wheels which I'm sure some really like (I do), nor the tires. Also some people don't want to go through the hassle of buying a car, then immediately having to buy a package and have it installed, etc.

Personally, I don't like the looks associated with the SVTPP cars. I don't care for the narrow stripes, or the wheels, and I don't want to be shopping for 20 inch high performance tires either! Since I didn't buy my 2011 Shelby brand new, I didn't have a choice of options, I just went with the car I liked the looks of best.

The '13 Shelby only comes with wide stripes, PP or not. They changed it from '12.

We weren't discussing the '13 but now that you bring it up. They got got rid of the ugly stripes and added an ugly rear end.

Yeah I dont like skinny stripes but I do love the PP wheels. Not really a money thing but more of a readily accessable one. My use of this car will be strictly play and street driving on some great old country roads. Would'nt mind tracking the car but not so likely as I'm in BFE MS and not really near tracks other than Atlanta but seeing how I moved from there I dont look forward to returning when I do go....

Oh and I'm talking about the 11-12's as I can't touch those 13's just yet. Got two upcoming drivers in the family with a third a short piece behind..... Just can't quite put it all together yet I'm torn between the GT500 and Boss.

It simply came down to a color choice for me... the color I wanted wasn't available in the SVTP package, so I mod'ed the suspension and picked up the wheels/tires. Voila, the exact car that I wanted. I actually prefer the 3.55s (had 3.73s installed on my '08), and the wider stripes.

If you are into performance out of the box and the added performance of the geasr it is a deal breaker. It's night and day.

The feeling of lighting it up and having the confidence of response makes it worth every penny.

Wanna bet the thin stripes become a desirable collector feature in the future...

Night and day? LOL. You can light it up w/3.55s w/confidence... Fact: the 3.73s were added to the SVTPP to compensate the for the taller rear wheels/tires (27.85 vs. 28.85). There is essentially no extra “performance”. Suspension… definitely not $3.5K better than the non-SVTPP... You can pick-up the whole set (M-18000-G) for $500.00 at Tousley, much less as take-offs from TS. Basically, the extra cost is associated with the wheels and tires. Don’t forget about the adjustable gurney flap, which isn’t adjustable but has the 1/3” lip… LOL. Deal breaker- no way!

Yeah, maybe in 50 years... and remember they're just vinyl decals, you can just add them. Also, you can get the SVTPP in a stripe delete... Still desirable?

NOTE: Ford has saturated the market w/07-13+ GT500s. I hope nobody expects these cars to be collectable. If so, you better find a good financial advisor.

With the power why would you want 3.73??? It would just make the first few gears worthless on the street

lol...I can hear it now, some douche shifting three times in the first 1.5 seconds...to reach 30mph in 4th gear. Exaggerated, but still.

Seriously, why in the world would you want 3.73's with that much power/torque? You'd never have a set of rear tires last more than 6 months, even if you grannied it.

For me, I like the stock wheels better, I like a softer suspension for daily driving and drag-racing, wider stripes look better and prefer 3.55's.
