Sales guy bull****e....

Went to the first dealer. They had a 2011 GT500 PP in black. Asked him a few questions like when will they start producing 2012 GT500's. He said that the 2011's just came in so it should be this time next year. I asked for a test drive and this particular dealership thinks that the same GT500 they've had on the lot for months now (w/ a $10K ADM on the window) has been chiseled out of gold. He asked me if I liked it would I buy it, I said perhaps although I'm considering several different cars and until I check them all out I wouldn't arrive at that decision until I do. So basically they wouldn't let me drive it.

So I called another dealer. The sales guy said they didn't have one in stock but gave me some contacts at other dealers who did, called them for me and they both agreed to give me a test drive. I thought it was really cool that he did that until he started saying things like it's the last year of the GT500, Shelbys contract ran out and next year's car will be a race car only and will be called something else, they're really rare and they're going to be collectors items etc.

After these two experiences I don't know if I'll be looking for one or not. The black one I saw today had that rear bumper poking misaligned/distorted some here have spoken of, the 1-2 shift grind that Ford won't do anything about, and the sales guys are complete bozos. I've never been treated with outright lies like this at a Porsche, Audi, Mercedes or BMW dealer. I'm selling my RS4 next week and am considering an American car this time round as I want to help our economy here at home but I'm very skeptical at this point.

where are you located? There are several excellent salesman here on TMS that could help. Too bad the ones you had to deal with were so crappy.

He can definitely help you find a GT500 in the north west with no BS.

I've pm'd him a while ago and only had a grabber blue one in stock. He's a bit far away to visit for a test drive.
