Good luck on your order. Last summer when my wife ordered her GT, the dealer changed their existing order to add the options she wanted. It showed up in just under 6 weeks. Perhaps your car will also arrive sooner since it was already in the pipeline and the dealer wanted give you the longest 'guestimate' on delivery.

GT500s are on a production hold, don't know when exactly they will build all the alocations out there including the one I am waiting for, for a customer.

 

Did that change yesterday? My dealer emailed the day before saying it was just taken off material hold and changed to unscheduled clean.

 

It appears my dealer is a totally straight up guy! Two days after I ordered my GT500 on April 25th, the dealer had the priority code changed from 10 to 1, and Ford's zone rep said the car would be built in May and delivered in June. I called Ford's customer service a few days ago. The vin was just assigned that day, and is schedueled to be built the last week of this month. They told me they can give me the actual day the car will be built this week. I also got an email from my dealer confirming this. After reading so many horror stories about waits, my car will be built 4 weeks after I ordered it, on X-plan!

 

Do you know why?

 

Got an update from Ford yesterday. My car is being built May 30th (Memorial Day?), with an ETA of June 18th. Just in time for Father's Day, and my first Mustang show.

 

Prepare for 4 weeks after build.

 

Window sticker up. Projected build date June 4th, 2011 (Saturday?). ETA is still set at June 18th.

 

Please Help! Can you tell me what dealers you found that participate in x-plan for the GT-500. I am in South Florida and I have tried 6 dealers with no success. One even took my deposit money and pin ordered the car then backed out....I can even see the ordered vehicle pending in their inventory... Very unprofessional

 

X-plan participation is strictly voluntary, you just have to keep trying different dealers who have one in stock, or call and ask if you can order one on X-plan. Just gotta keep trying.

 

I pulled up a list of around 160 New England Ford Dealers. I started with the closest dealer who was 4.6 miles from me. I was prepared to call every single one if I had to in order to get x-plan. Luck would have the very first call I made, the sales manager agreed to x-plan over the phone. I went in to the dealership the next day and put down a deposit, changed the dealer order to my specs, signed the x-plan rate sheet, and my car was just built June 4th.

Your determination will pay off. Keep calling to get what you want.

My GT500 was built June 3rd, and I got an email from my dealer that they received it yesterday morning!

At the dealer 20 days after it's built, I can't believe it.

 

Picking up my x-plan GT500 tomorrow!
