Fyi I've had these other issues with the car. It wasn't just the clutch but it pushed me over the edge.

-wheels scratched during shipping
-bumper scratched during shipping
-rear bumper misaligned
-noisy rear axle
-injector o-rings leaking gas
-leaky trunk

I'm just tired of all the fighting to get things taken care of.

first 2 arent fords fault, that would be the jack *** carrier.

i have been at a dealer for 13 years, i can say we never had a new car with that many issues. usually they leave a plug unhooked, so the a/c or radio doesnt work. something dumb. I think we had a leaky head gasket on a 99 Gt when the first came out, right off the carrier, ford called it back. I really find it hard to believe u have this many issues and the dealer is treating u like this..

My 2006 gt Vert had the following

2 tops replaced
alternator
2 rearend gear sets
2 clutch packs
4 fuel sending units
2 fuel pumps
pealing vinyl around guage cluster
lots of random dash rattles
fuel filler neck
gas tank
2 seat latches
2 wheel bearings
shaker 500
front brake assembly
passenger airbag setting

I am sure I missed a few things. All of these happened before 15,000 miles. The dealer stopped accepting my car and I had to look into other options.

But I did like the car. these things happen.

Sorry to hear about your problems but Ford isn't the only one that is doing this type of stuff. GM is doing the same thing. I have a 09 Z06 and I'm active member on Corvetteforum.com. There are several posts over there about what should be regular warranty work being denied because the manufacturer has detected or thinks the car has been abused (raced). It's a sad reality but if you race your car or modify it and the manufacturer gets word of it or can detect it, chances are your on your own when it comes to repairs. This is exactly the reason my car is 100% stock and won't ever see a track. You know the saying you got to pay to play.

Call up Crouse Ford, I'm sure Tom the sales manager can talk to you about Ford not wanting to cover the wheel. I'm sure they have insurance with the carrier for these types of things.

Just so you know, it's up to the dealer you go to! Don't knock Ford just cause you're dealer doesn't know what they're doing!!

He knows. Perhaps a little research would reveal the sequence of events and the fact there is more to the story.

An issue like this has a few facets.

If you mod your car, it draws closer scrutiny. That just goes without saying. For example, there's a reason why the 5.0 doesn't put out 450HP from the factory. Because the tune is held back so Ford doesn't pay out the yingyang for warranty repairs by tuning it to the edge.

The best course of action is to return it to stock before bringing it in.

Can't see how they would have known about your track day, can't see Ford spending the resources to track every owner's actions on the net. Did you disclose this to the tech? THAT would be silly.

Look, I've had an issue here and there, once had an issue with my shifter cables needed adjustment -- they blamed it on the Steeda shortshifter, I brought it back home, swapped it back to the stock one, same problem, so they fixed it.

Same with the engine -- had a rod bearing ticking -- they went over it, questioned the Steeda CAI, pored over the oil change history, tore it apart -- in the end they found out it was cleaner than your kitchen table inside and they replaced the whole engine at 80,000 miles under the extended warranty. You just have to C.Y.A.

To the OP, it's really awful to hear about the issues you've had with your GT500.

While you have a pulley on it, as it's said, they'd have to show proof that it was the root cause of the issue to deny warranty coverage on it per the Magnuson-Moss act. Also, if they've taken the time to tear the transmission down and look at the clutch, I'd be hard pressed to let them simply take pictures and be done. Compare it to a "good" or properly worn component with similar mileage and see what they say.

If you're still unhappy, then I suggest one or both of the following; contact a regional service rep or seek legal action to have them repair the issue. How were they able to pinpoint you on the forums as the owner of the vehicle?

I saw a lot of similar cases of this in the Mazda community. Many Mazdaspeed owners got screwed by MNAO for things, and a few with blown 100% stock motors were denied for warranty repairs because of comments on forums. It truly is a shame that enjoying a vehicle can come back to bite you like this.

OP, good luck with any vehicle you choose in the future. Hopefully you'll find that a good dealer can really make or break the manufacturer's perception.

I've gone as far up in Ford that I can go. I had some people in lower ranks that wanted to help but upper brass in Detroit said no. I don't hate Ford as a whole, just really am upset with the way everything has transpired from the day of delivery until now. Thanks for the support, I'm not sure what I'm going to do next.

I will say this; they did take the time to research me online which I find very creepy, the plant tech told me about it on the phone yesterday. I'm think it was because I posted my VIN on Teamshelby and they tied the two together with my posts about the issues I was having. I reason I posted my VIN was a while back a forum member was providing build info about the car. Like my car was x number of a certain combo in Maryland kind of stuff.

He's said it several times, it's not his dealer, it's Ford.

It's both. Another dealer might replace it, but if they have to contact Ford, the end result will be the same.

Unhappy Sad - Very Sad

I was denied any kind of assistance on the repair from the plant engineer by only picture examinations. I ended up having to install a McLeod clutch and flywheel because the OEM unit was on constant back order after waiting for months. I ended up with $1800 dollars in expenses taking away the down payment money for a 2011 Fiesta I planned to buy as a daily driver.

I went all the way to the top of the chain. I ended up dealing with Ken Czubay's team only to get a "free" extended warranty if I bought the Fiesta. I had my final conversation with one of his team members and a plant engineer today. They said because I had posted on the forms I had taken my car down the drag strip for fun at a track rental that I overheated it that day. Even though it was fine and didn't fail until and couple of months and thousands of miles later.

The bottom line is this. If you have any kind of fun in these cars Ford will look for anything to get out of assisting you. What’s the purpose of buying a Mustang for if you can only drive it like a Fusion? I went out of my way to buy this car earlier then I really could afford last year to help them out for not taking bailout money. This was supposed to be a dream experience for me and instead has been a nightmare. I appreciate everyone's support on the forum and wish you all the best with your cars. Be careful as to what you say or do with them as it seems Ford is watching. It's going to be hard for a loyal Ford guy leave but I'm so disgusted about this. Ford rather jump over a dollar to save a dime.
You aren't the first person to claim this kind of nonsense. Very sorry to hear of the bad experience. Your situation is one of the many reasons I refuse to buy a Mustang new. I hope everything turns out better for you. Nothing seems to have been the same with this motor company after Scott Hoag left years back.

Im kinda torn on this one...

for you:
-yikes that ford would have checked your posts on web forums...big brother!!! just seems un american/canadian to do this!!! (is it even legal?)
-you've had so many other issues besides just clutch

against you:
-you did race car at 1/4 mile track...and im sure somewhere in fine print..ford says thats a nono

above being said...if i was service rep,i would choose to fix your car for free...you are a valued ford buyer (shelby and poss fiesta) i would not want to lose you future business over a oem clutch...

best of luck with whatever you choose to do......
