No need to vote in!

Anyone out there to rival this guy? lol

Looks like Caroll's alter-ego!

If he drives twice as good as my grandfather, we're still in alot of trouble!!

For myself, I own a home theater specialized shop.

Currently Unemployed but actively seeking a job. It's pretty bad out there. There are jobs but so many people going for them. It's hard to even get in the door for an interview. I have 13 years of experience in IT and a Masters degree.

I'm looking too. I have 27 years in electronic manufacturing and recently applied for an electronics manufacturing job and they rejected my resume because I had no experience.

I saw another ad for a fork truck driver that required at least a 2 year college degree.

Nobody is paying either. Jobs I qualify for are paying half of what I was making.

Friends and family that have jobs don't understand why it's so hard to find one and why I just don't take the $10/hr job thats offered. Ummm... Because that ain't gonna pay the bills!

Not fun out there.

Something to consider...

My father is law has been out of work, and he was offered a job about two months after loosing his last one. He turned it down because it didn't pay enough (about 2/3 what he needed). That was 18 months ago. He's still out of work...and hasn't been offered a job since. unemployment is gone too. He's still kicking himself for not taking it. At the time, I know it must have been a hard decision, but never turn anything down that you can make work out. You may regret it later.

But keep up the search. I want to encourage you. My wife is out of work too.

Hey guys... good luck in finding a good job, not easy... I was in that situation about 13 years ago, and I had to move from Canada to Kansas City and then to Washington DC in order to work in my field of expertise. (IT)
Still, this was a very nice 2 years experience in the USA.
Now, I am back in Canada and started my own business.

I do worry about that . The position was only temp, so it wouldn't have lasted long anyway.

I have several resumes out there right now but haven't heard anything, and the wanted ads are still up. Employers know they can pick and choose who they want and offer as little as possible.

Yup it's an employers market right now. Almost to the point where they are abusing it. I can't tell you how many HR people and recruiters I've talked to. Very few however have been what I'd call true professionals and do what they say. I've finally had a few interviews. I have a second interview coming up this week with a local company. Hopefully I'm the guy they want.

I've only had two interviews at the temp agencies. One is nice and tries, but no money in what he has. They other just tells me they will call me even though the BIG sign in the office says that I need to call them. She nearly had heart failure when I said nothing less than $14/hr. I gave up on them.

I'm 56 years old and been sitting on my butt since i was 40 LOL!!! I was a machinist for 17 years, until in 1992 i hurt my back at work. The operation didn't go very good. Since 92 i have been on Social Security, long term disability (from work) and a service connected disability check from the Military.

When people get old they all start looking the same. So far I haven't quite reached this point.
