I wanted American muscle with Steve McQueen cool.
Some of my Mustang brothers make me wanna

The 2010 C Class Mercedes I traded in had a phenominal interior. It had the contrasting seats, almost white. They were the fake leather but you couldn't really tell. I do sometimes miss that interior and the interior in the 08 Z4 I had was great too. I don't have any complaints on my 13 Gt interior other than the center console popping up. One of the main reasons I bought this car was for the awesome cloth Recaros. I am getting some seat belt wear on the outer driver's seat after 8600 miles so either I'm going to get the bar and 4 points or get a seatbelt sleeve so I can make them last as long as possible. If it gets that noticeable then I'm going to take it in when I get back to the states and ask them for a new seat under warranty.
Hey I am huge mustang fan but the interior is what is keeping me away. If Ford expects me to drop $40,000 on a California Special, I except more than plastic in the interior. Look at BMW, They are luxurious as can be, but a 2013 or 2014 Mustang C/S looks phenomenal...
If Ford did the following:
-better steering wheel (looks kinda cheap with the tri-spoke and the plastic in the middle, the 2013 taurus has a great wheel....)
-heater steering wheel (I like heated..
)
-better steering wheel button layout (I counted 16 or so button on it, I think they could readjust it a little bit)
-10-way power seats... (again, comfiness is key...)
-memory seats (nice to have...)
-better dash layout (if you get a Navi, it looks nice but without, its a clusterf*ck)
Just my $0.02

Thank you for saying the truth. If I had any internet cookies, I'd give you some!

Ummm, have you ever been in a BMW? They arent even close to being "as luxurious as can be"! My E92 M3 interior is blah......

Well expecting a British car show to go nuts over an American street rod is like getting a good review on a steak by a vegetarian. The mustang is being updated some but is still based on its iconic image. Look at the panic over the possible redesign of the 2015. I mean No disrespect to the Brits but I do not think they understand the power of a legend when it comes to a car.
The mustang, from the first one off the assembly line to the ones that are being built now, have never been a car that was designed to compete with other automakers' luxury. The mustang is not a luxury vehicle. Never has been, and I pray to Almighty God that it never will be. When people realized it was fun to drive, fast and attractive, Ford realized they had stumbled upon The Perfect Car for its market. It's a pony car, not a leather-stuffed rolling boat on wheels; it's a muscle car, not a $60,000 status symbol. It has so much more cache and historical clout than any of the European cars that are compared to it, because not one of them ever created a niche of their own in the auto industry. Without the Mustang, there is no '69 Camaro SS, there is no hemi Cuda, there is no GTO Judge, there are no pure horsepower wars, there is no such thing as a "muscle car." No German- or European-made cars ever, ever gave their buyers what the Mustang did, and they haven't since. You want to pay $10k for leather that didn't come off an animal, or "wood" that never was part of a tree, or a label from a company that says "we're better than everyone else because we're (insert foreign nationality here)-made and we're worth it because we say we are!"...then go but a Kia. Go buy a Beemer, or a Benz, or an Audi. Then you'll be wrapped in baby-soft vinyl from your pretty little ankles to your precious little chins. Just don't complain about a mustang not being a BMW, because the rest of us who drive the first and still best muscle car aren't interested in hearing it.

I think the problem may have started because Ford wanted to beat the M3 at Leguna Seca. I don't think anyone ever wanted to compare features at Leguna Seca ...

Bitter? Why? I have a '13 Shelby SVTTP in my garage with 305mm of Nitto drag radial rubber on textured matte-black Forgestar F14's in back and another 275 up front. I routinely get compliments and honks of praise from fellow drivers, many of whom are not sitting in Mustangs. I've had three SAPD officers pull me over just so they can ask about the car and look under the hood. I smile every time I get in it, 5.5 months after I drove it home for the first time. What reason would I have, then, to be bitter?
I'm not mad either, but persistent stupidity and ignorance does tend to wear my patience a little thin. I'd be willing to bet that is the case for most intelligent individuals. Comparing a European luxury sedan/coupe to the Mustang without properly qualifying the comparison is, without question, rank ignorance or selective stupidity. I believe my irritation at my fellow Mustang owners for perpetuating such behavior is well warranted.
