Got 2012 GT-500 at Z Plan!
Posted the following on another thread, but seemed better to start new:
New to the forums here. Loved the Shelbys since 2007 and always wanted one......until the Bosses came into the picture. Been searching everywhere to find one without getting raped for ADM. Anyway, went to a local dealer last week to see a Laguna Seca that was just sold for 10K over and ask about future allocations.
When I went in, they had a gorgeous 2012 GT-500 in the showroom, Black with red stripes and the shaker 1000 upgrade. It was the last day of June, and they said they would knock 2K off sticker so they didn't have to carry it to July's books. I told him that was great, but I was really interested in the Boss. Couldn't help myself from sitting in it and just for ***** and giggles I asked what they could do for an A/Z plan customer (father-in-law is a retiree from Lima's Ford engine plant). To my complete amazement, they said I could get the Z plan price if I bought that day.
Sticker was $51,165 and Z plan price was $45,139. 6K under sticker it was what they say is "an offer I couldn't refuse". Signed the papers then and there and picked up the car yesterday. Absolutely love it! will be back here often to share and get good info from you guys. Never thought this day would come.....

At home with my 65 Galaxie that's been in the family since 68

Welcome to the club! Love your garage and the Galaxie. Black and red is the fastest color you know.
Your pics just reminded me of something that has been on my mind. Wonder why the shift **** on the standard has stripes, but the one on the SVTPP doesn't? I think they should make them with stripes that match the seat color stripes, and the ones with stripe delete should have the plain ball like the SVTPP does. That would be a nice touch.

Thanks so much for all the good words. Still pinching myself. Absolutely love love love the car. Meeting all my expectations and much more. I knew it would be a beast, but never expected it to be so easy to drive around town.
There's a good friend of mine at work who has a 2005 Viper (400 hp, I think) that doesn't like to run well below 25 mph, kinda like an old big block with a lumpy cam and a carb out of adjustment. He warned me that a Shelby would probably be the same.
He doesn't know about my purchase yet. I plan to drive it to work tomorrow and tell him that he better look out because there's a real snake in the parking lot that will eat his underpowered skiddish worm for breakfast.
Anyway, for those who may be wondering how the price structure breaks down between all the plans, I can summarize below based on the dealer print out of my car, highest to lowest:
MSRP + ADM = WTF? You've got to be kidding.......I mean shot
MSRP = $51,165
X Plan = $46,958.99 (why the .99 I have no idea)
Invoice = $46,871.48 (ditto for the .48)
D Plan = $45,239.48
A & Z Plan = $45,139.48
Dealer holdback was also listed at $1509
Hope this helps someone.

Dodge Viper first generation
- 0-60 mph (97 km/h): 4.6 sec[6]
- 0-100 mph (160 km/h): 9.2 sec
- quarter mile: 12.9 sec @ 113.8 mph (183.1 km/h)[6]
- top speed: 164 mph (264 km/h)
- 700 ft (210 m) slalom: over 66 mph (106 km/h)
- skidpad average g: 0.96
Go forth and represent! Maybe a little 'stock look' pulley and tune if you want your friend to ditch the Viper and get a Shelby too

Have fun!
Congrats!
FYI- the dealer was bull****ting you. You could've got Z plan any day, not just if you bought it that day. Ford is the one of determines which cars are X/A/Z plan eligible, NOT the dealer. The Shelby's have been eligible for more than 6 months now.

You can ask Ford employees at BlueOvalforums.com to get you an X plan pin number.
