Hey Guys,

After a couple of years lurking around this site I finally took the plunge & bought myself one. Here's what I got...

2011 Shelby GT500
Race Red w/white stripes
Electronics Package
Glass Roof

Found her in Kentucky below MSRP and jumped right on it. She's being shipped to NYC by the end of the week.

I'm curious to know if these cars are still being delivered from the factory in "safe mode"? If so when will it start producing boost?

I'll post pics as soon as she's in my possession but in the meanwhile here's a pic of it at the dealership...

Nice, Welcome to the club. Yes, limited until the first five consecutive miles or 50 starts

 

Welcome! Yes, on the "safe mode". The alternate calibration limits boost and limits rpm to 4000 for the first 50 engine start/warm up cycles, or until it is driven for 5 consecutive miles according to my owners manual. So its not a big deal really. Unless you live practically next door to the dealership, it'll be in normal mode by the time you get home with it.

 

That's it? Ow it'll be making boost in no time. Thought it was based on an average of mileage & time.

Anyone know how the engine limits it?

 

I assume its just a temporary parameter that is part of the calibration in the ECM.
