Canadian pricing for GT500 is out
MSRP...Base $61,699 plus $1600 GG tax.
SVTPP...$2000
Track Pack...$3300
Nav...$2300
Glass roof...$1500
Shaker 1000..$1000
Recaro seats...$1500
Add in 13% sales tax (Ont.) and you're at 83k for a fully loaded GT500.
It will be interesting to see how well the car sells up here.

close...
The $1600 is shipping and air tax. No GGT. The seats are only $1000. Still nothing about the SVTTP. Not sure if we get them or not.
$61,699 Base
$1,600 Delivery and air tax
$2,000 SVTPP
$1,000 Recaro
Total $66,299 plus 5% tax = $69,613.95 for me. I am in....

Are Canadian salaries higher on average than US ones?

Depends on the job as anything.
We also get taxed heavily.
Used to be PST (provincial sales tax difference province to province) and GST (federal goods and services tax)
Bunch of provinces have adopted HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) combining the 2, but they again are different from province to province.
Ontario's is 13% sales tax.
And we don't have 'free health care'
We just pay for it in the taxes...

Min Wage in Ontario is $10.25
Varies Prov/Prov (ranging from 9-11, but usually around 9-10)
Per state looks around average 7.25-8
Compare an average CAW and UAW salary.
Don't have time to look it up.

Average Salary/Household income based on what?
Compare Apples/Apples...same job, which pays more in which country.
THen again, even that is region based. Even my position is based on location can change wages. Same job, different classification(based on location) different wage.

If I have 100 families pulling in 60k in US funds in the US
and I have 100 families pulling in 60k in CAN funds in Canada....
Assuming exchange rate is at par.
How does this tell me if a teaching position in Canada pays more or less than in the States?
(Either way, they aren't buying a GT500 cash anytime soon)

Are Average household incomes higher?
I'm not debating this anymore.
Back on topic.
At these prices, border towns, I'd not hesitate one second to go south and purchase this car.
THere's an SVT dealer around the corner of my house and they have 2010s still on the lot.

As for tax, you pay that whether you buy in Canada or import into Canada, so I've left tax out of the equation to keep it simple.

I guess you've got a problem with teachers and firemen.....don't worry my "brothers" will still drag your @ss out of your burning house.

A bit of background to my earlier post above is I've got a son and daughter-in-law that are both teachers, and because I have a house in both Canada & the US I listen to their conversations, which includes the difference between teacher’s wages in both countries.
They would love to move to the US home because they love the area where we have out home, but neither is ready to take the salary haircut.
I have firemen friends and neighbours on both sides of the border, and one was lamenting the other day how low his new guys (in S. Dakota) starting wages were in relation to Canadian firemen starting wages.
It's nothing anybody dwells on, because we're all friends regardless of what wages anybody makes. but that's felt comfortable in commenting salray differences in the teaching and firemen professions.
I hope this further explanation clarifies any misconceptions and I'd like to leave it at there. I don't intend on posting on this subject again, because we’ve drifted off the topic of how the 2013 Canadian Shelby prices compare to the US Shelby prices, which I’ve also responded to earlier.
Cheers,
Jouster
