Isn't that good for dragging or whatever though? Curious what your usage of the car is that makes the stock gears a negative. Not saying you're wrong, just curious!

The Shelby also has long gears to reach that 200mph too speed. Since there's no where to do that in the US, the 3.73s would give him even quicker acceleration once he has the wider tires. Plenty of Terminator guys are running his power levels (and more) with 3.73s or 4.10s...

When you widen your rear wheels, what offset are you going to shoot for? I was looking for new wheels to achieve the same thing - wider rear tires for traction.

I know you can go up to 10.5 on the stock rim with no modifications, and up to 11" if you remove the dust boot on the shocks. The guy who told me this is using CS1s, which are 11", while waiting on his factory wheels to get done.

Good luck with the new ride. Did you do a baseline dyno before the mods ?

I dont mean to hijack your thread but hope you can enlighten me on wheel widening. I have stock 18X8 on my '12 GT and would like wider tires in the back. How does one go about widening their wheels?, How much wider can you make an 8 in wheel? How much does it cost?

Appreciate the info. Your car is fing sweet by the way. I'd give my left nut for that car!

You send your wheels in to a company that cuts them in half and welds in a section up to 3 inches. So you could take stock wheels up to 11 inches wide. It's kinda expensive, it would probably be $200 per wheel plus shipping costs for you. Your best option may be to look on Americanmuscle.com and see if they got your style of wheels but wider.

If you do want to widen your stock wheels weldcraft does a great job and they come out balanced.

No I didn't, but I've dyno'd on that dyno many times and it reads even with all the magazines and expected numbers. So it should have been 590ish stock. Going for another pull after some tweaks at the end of the month, hoping to break 700! The numbers the car gives with such simple boltons is insane. Will post the numbers and chart at end of month.
