I know some people have expressed interest in swapping their 10-12 grilles for the open 2013 style. I was able to find a part number for the upper, but the lower grille is still not showing a price, and is most likely not available yet (as of 5/25). I will update this with info as it becomes available.

GT500 upper grille: DR3Z-8200-AA ($357.83)

GT500 lower grille: DR3Z-17K945-AA (No price given)

They do have them but SVT designed them to maximixe airflow so if you look at it, it might not appear to have one. But it does, it is designed to channel the airflow to specific parts of the engine in order to cool it doen thus reducing some heat soak issues past GT500s have had.

No. The shape of the corners on the GT/Boss upper grille is rounded, but the GT500 comes to a point.

I think I've noticed something too. The GT500 lower appears to have two versions. One is blocked, which I'm guessing isn't the Track Pack, and the other is slatted (like the pic in here) and that diverts air to the supplemental coolers.

Steve, I think you secretly want to work in the parts dept at a Ford dealer. Then you would actually get paid to look this stuff up.

You may be right, but I think I'll stick to a job in the engineering field for now.

You might be able to shave the corners of the 2013 GT500 Grill but then you would have to deal with the snake backing still being visible

Do you really wanna hack it to put it in? Besides, it doesn't belong on a non SVT car.

That's my point. The 2013s look so much like the Shelby that putting in a Shelby grill is only going to IMHO "poserfy" the car even more. Plus even if you do remove the Snake emblem you will still have the backing plate there that will stand out like a sore thumb even if you do put the tri-bar pony emblem on it.

I think that's why the subtle difference in the corner keeps the poseurs from trying to swap grilles. IMO, a Cobra only belongs on the SVT car. Keep them away from anything else.

Sorry if this question sounds ignorant but is the radiator black or is it just shadowed in all the photos? I wanted to do the swap from my honeycomb 12 grill to the 13 but the big radiator in its current form might scream unfinished.

It looks like it is black ... I would get the lower as well so it looks finished instead of mix and matched

You could spray it with some high temp flat black paint to mask it. I agree, do both or don't do either one.

I was definitely going to do both, I agree one honeycomb and one open would look stupid. The only reason I hadn't tried to order it yet was because I wasnt sure if the radiator would attract your eyes more than the open grill. I could paint it I suppose. As long as someone doesnt say to plastic dip it we'll all be good.

GT500 lower grille: DR3Z-17K945-? (More info needed)

With the front ends being completely different, how would this be something the 10-12' owners could install?

The front end of the GT500 is virtually unchanged from 10-12 to 13. Not sure what you were referring to.
