2012 GT-500 Discontinued ???
Will 2011 Be the Last year of the Gt-500??
With the Rumored { Road Runner 302} Could it Be the End of this Model or the Next Evolution. Can Ford Afford to Market a Hi-po 5.4L and a Hi-Po 5.0 L
Fuel Economy Standards are getting tighter and tighter.
Perhaps The Top Dog in 2012 will be a Boss 302 or Mach 1 Street Model. Or maybe an entirely new name.
Are we not due for a New SE. We have Had Gt-500, {GT-350 Shelby american}, GT/CS and Bullitt from Ford. Just seems The right time for some new blood.
It has already lasted Longer than the Original Version.
If is rumored the FOMOCO Licensing agreement on the Shelby Name is up in 2012.
Just a Thought!

I mean yeah, I hate the fact that 100rwhp costs $400 too.
Something tells me you have never driven a factory blown Mustang.

There's a demanding base for high performance Mustangs. The OE, features, upgrades, and actual performance are important not the model name. A Cobra emblem would be just as good as the GT500, or a Highland Green GT with the proper performance level would not need to be called a Bullitt.
I agree. No way they throw away that R&D for a one year motor.
Besides. There ain't a soul complaining about this motor. Those other domestic guys that compain about blowers making the power are just jealous.

Whether you like the man or not, S H E L B Y on a Mustang means something and it always will. People might cringe at paying 50k for a souped up Mustang, but they'll gladly pay that for a Shelby. I don't think there is any danger of the GT500 being discontinued over the next few years. Boss and Shelby will coexist.
Show me someone who would rip Shel's name off of the car, and I'll show you someone who doesn't own one.

There is no freankin way!
There is no reason in the world to discontinue a brand new engine and a car that is........AWESOME!
Probly drop the shelby name and with it 2-3k.

Poor mr Shelby, he`ll be broke
