sweet...if i had one id opt for the coupe. rip the backseat out, spare tire (if it has one)...all the weight savings i could think of besides striping out the carpet and such materials in the trunk area. lol

Color me impressed! Great Job SVT. You took all the issues that people complained about and fixed them. I've said it for years, but the tires that Ford put on the car really held it back. Nice to see that they started with a good tire and tuned the chassis around it. Now, how about an IRS rear (I had too!).

Has anyone seen the new shifter ball that comes with this SVT package yet?

I was hoping they would do something better with it. I'll stick with the stripes on mine thank you.

Yeah, IMO it looks just like a 6-speed version of the Hurst classic white shifter ball, nothing more, but I'd take it even though the stripes look better.

Plain white or with stripes... I don't really care... As long as it's connected to a gt500 6 speeds tranny!!

If Ford added and IRS and Recaros, what would I complain about? Ford is impressing me everyday. Even my import buddies are considering Fords! My one friend was anti-domestic and now is considering a GT500.

If I was a betting man, I'd say you're getting both on the next redesign...

From most of the pics I have seen so far it appears as though the SVT PP option also allows you to get rid of the seat accents even when the over the top stripes are not deleted. Better, IMHO. But then again, who gives a **** about silly stripes? With all the mechanical upgrades I'm thinking Ford is sandbagging about the 10 hp increase. Doesn't seem logical that if you lose the power steering pump, increase the capacity of the intercooler and up the size of the exhaust to 2.75" that you would only gain 10 hp. I happily say BS!

The intercooler doesn't add HP. It just lets you keep it longer.

The 2010 Dyno pulls by 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords showed 478.53 horsepower and 470.43 lb-ft torque at the rear wheels on a hot and muggy day in Florida. Much can be argued about exactly how much power is transferred from the flywheel to the wheel, but the traditional calculation of a 15% loss puts the GT500 at over 560 bhp

562 and 554 to be more accurate

the 2009 KR produced 509 horsepower and 467.7 lb.-ft. torque to the wheels. Adjusting for an estimated driveline loss of 15 percent, the actual output at the flywheel is 589.82 hp and 550.24 lb-ft torque

I would expect the 2011 to come in between somewhere, say 575/560 ish
Drop a pulley and tune and we're over 600
It's all good!!!

Denser air = more hp.
