2010-2012 GT 500 Reliability/Service
For those of us considering 2013's, what kind of problems, if any, are you folks having with your Shelby's beyond basic oil/filter maintainence?
Have you been to your dealer for service beyond scheduled basics?
Have you been to your dealer for service beyond scheduled basics?
I've been in for a Trans rebuild for the 1-2 grind, which has supposedly been fixed in the 2013
I've had the seat rails & motors on the driver's seat replaced because it stopped moved forward/backward. Oddly this happened the day I picked it up from the trans rebuild, but dealer swears it was not linked.
I have a squeak coming from the front somewhere, right side I think. Constant sounds from the moment you turn the car on and peaks when you hit a bump. Diagnosis ranges between the suspension just needing a bit of grease, to something being loose from the rebuild. I haven't had it back to a dealer yet as I'm in the market for a new one.
Have just 4,956 miles on my car - picked up in July 2010 2 oil changes to date.
The only real problem I see you having is getting good service under warranty!

I've had absolutely horrific luck with dealers. It's part of the reason I didn't' buy a new car for 25 years. Even with a car I bought used, there was one job I didn't want to do myself - that being timing chain - so I paid a premium to have a local dealer do it. I picked up my car and the A/C no longer worked. Damned mechanics snapped the connector right off the A/C clutch.
No, I didn't bring it back to them to fix it since EVERY time I dropped my car off, for SOME REASON they didn't look at it the same day and when they did they always found a litany of issues that needed fixing.
Last new car was in '86. Brought that to the dealer due to brakes failed completely in the 1st year. Not covered by warranty. Never went back to that dealer - got rid of the car.

And they get pissy with me because I'm a mechanic and a mechanical engineer. I swear many dealers have the worst mechanics available and are the least ethical people you can find.

Well in the mechanics defence the dealers pay us real ****ty... so we have to fight for every hour earned... the main reason I'm quiting the dealer is the anouther I made last year. Seeing my w-2 made me realize how ****ty i was being paid and how much they expected from me.
