i too noticed the move from one side to the other. the front ends look very similar, easily recognizable as a cobra without the badging. i also like the "GT 500" striping on the side too. not a big fan of shelby as i stated before, but a nice looking car.

I see the front of the '10 GT500 and I can't help but paraphrase, "Oh my God Becky, look at her face... it is so big, I can't believe it's just so round, it's like, out there, I mean - gross."

Those snakes flipflopped in the '60s also. Passenger side for '67 and driver's side for '69-70. Man,talk about two gorgeous cars, you couldn't go wrong with the either the '07-09 or '10+.......which piece of gold is better???
I love the new lettering for the GT500 side stripe,it reminds me of the Ford GT.

One of the press releases said the change in the Cobra had to do with the CAI. I wouldn't think the snake in front of the radiator would affect it, though.

The Shelby’s open-element air induction system features a conical air filter instead of a flat-panel closed system to reduce air restriction. This approach allows more air to be pumped through the engine, producing more power and increasing the engine’s efficiency.
A cold-air intake feeds the coolest air possible directly into the air box, helping further increase horsepower. The intake necessitated moving the Cobra snake badge to the other side of the grille to enable maximum airflow.

I'm assuming that the Air Inlet is now right behind the grill on the drivers side, just like it is on the 2010 GT, not coming in from the fender as the previous cars did, including the GT-500's and GT-500 KR. So it makes sense not to stick anything in the way of that air flow. Besides, I like it better on the passenger side. But that's just my preference.

Man I'm gonna get my @ss flamed half to death for this one but the new Shelbys front end reminds me of that Rage Mustang... Just how the nose is puffed up around the grill... Kinda like the old front better but it's sharp overall.

(which is probably why I like it so much - AC CObra = )

I think the evolution of the GT500 is much more attractive than that of the GT and base model. I love both cars since they are inspired by my all time dream car (68' Shelby GT500KR). For the most part I like the look of the 09' car better than the 10' with the exception of the GT500.
I'm curious to see how many of these they plan to make and for how long. I'd personally have no problem with the market being flooded with used low mile 07-13??? GT500s. I hope they try to improve this model every year like Chevy has done with the Corvette, instead of basic carryover stuff like the 05-09 Mustang.

Perhaps I missed something with the headlights. Their locations on the coupe and vert seem to be inversed.

Not sure why they are reversed.

Looks like the housing is taller nearest to the grille. Might need the extra room for the projector Or maybe they thought it would be even more bug-eyed with the projectors on the outside of the lamps?

That's makes sense. The location of the HIDs makes the front more modern and aggressive.
