10-12 Shelby or 13?
Hey guys I'm getting ready to start looking for my first Shelby and a childhood dream of owning one. I love these cars but I'm not sure if should get a fairly cheaper 10-12 model or 13+. Is the 13 that much more awesome than the 10-12 ? Is it worth the coin?! I'd like to get opinions of those who own these beasts

MY 11 & 12 have the 5.4, factory rated @ 550hp, MY 13 & 14 have the 5.8, factory rated @ 662hp.
If your budget will support a 13 / 14, that would be the way to go.
Here are 2 articles on the 2013 MY, info on what was upgraded from the 2012.....good luck on your decision.

I had to make the same choice a few months ago. 10-12 or 13. Like above i focused on 11-12 or 13. typically its a $20K diff between the 11-12 and 13. I decided to do the 11 svtpp, it seemed the best bang for the buck, with consideration of mods in the near future. I am very pleased with my decision. i came from an 11 5.0. you cant go wrong with a 11-12 gt500. however if money is no object i would have done a 13+.

Go for the 13-14. I test drove a 11 last December and was it was fast. However, our 14 Shelby is insane! Good luck with Shelby shopping! Plus the 13-14's could be the sought after car if Ford drops the "Shelby" name. Just food for thought.

One more question before I go get myself in debt hahaha.
I found a few awesome 2011s and 2012s for under 46k. What would it take and about how much would one be looking at spending to match what the 2013 puts out?
I'm sorry for all the questions but I really don't wanna regret anything about my choice of model

For under 2K you can get the power close to '13 levels but you will also be stressing the engine more as you will have to increase the boost, which also increases the heat generated. However, you also lose the factory warranty with modifications and don't get all the other new features the '13 has such as bigger brakes, Torsen diff and the Track Apps with Launch Control. Personally I feel the '11-'12 cars are easier to drive normal on the street as the gears are closer and better suited for that. The '13 feels like it always wants to kill you.

I believe Shelby American has in fact signed a licensing agreement with Ford to continue working with them and to continue designing and building Shelby vehicles.
