2011 GT500 Convertible - Baer Brakes Installation

Just finished the install of the Baer Extreme Plus 14" 6 Piston Caliper setup on the Stang. Had them coated in what they call "Nickle" finish with Red lettering. I couldn't be happier with the install or the function of the brakes. These are essentially what you get with the Super Snake edition and only if you opt for the upgrade on the rear brakes.

So far, only street type driving and am doing the heat cycles on the rotors. You can instantly feel how much better this is than the stock setup...................which I thought was pretty good.

Installation took 5 hours start to finish with help from an experienced installer. Only minor trimming involved. If you plan to put this setup on your car, I took lots of pictures of the install and will provide them upon request through a PM.

The Splitters would have already been on the car except that when we opened the box, there were two drivers side pieces and none for the passenger side. Won't be long..................

The old brakes, including every piece/part/bolt etc that came off of the car are boxed up into the Baer boxes. I already had someone inquire about them and looks like they may be snapped up already. If the transaction doesn't go through, I'll get back in touch with you. The car only had 550 miles on it when I took everything off.
Thanks
Randy

I bought the Baer Brakes directly from Baer. Call them up, ask for Dutch and tell them that I sent you.
Marble - they will know who I am.

I'd love the Front/Rear kit on my GT5.

The $ makes me wait a bit however. Looks sweet on your ride.

What made you decide on the Baer's? I was considering them along with StopTech and Wilwood.

Baer Brakes vs Others

A few reasons that I chose Baer over the "others".

1) They are the same brakes used on the front of the Shelby Super Snake.
2) The rears that I put on are the brakes that are optional on the Shelby Super Snake.
3) I could get them CNC'd with "Shelby".
4) I could get them in pretty much any color that I wanted.
5) I've used the Baer Brakes on previous cars vs 'others' and I just believe they are a superior product.

The stopping power that this car has now is nothing short of incredible. In everyday driving they are very easy to modulate and require so little brake pedal pressure for normal driving. However..........if you need them..............and I did once when a guy lost his brakes at an intersection and jutted right out in front of me from the left......................they are there when you need them.

Hope this helps.

P.S. Plus, the people at Baer are personable, easy to deal with and they sponsor Mustang and hot rod events across the country and put back into our sport.

Thanks
Randy
