Questions for the people that have dyno tuned with ethanol gas and straight gas.

I have some questions for the people that have redynoed there car on
straight gas compared to 10% ethanol gasoline. How much has the shift in the wide open throttle air fuel ratio been compared to straight gas?

I corrected my air fuel ratio for 10% ethanol gas and the car did not like it. It ran very poorly at the track. It was sluggish and had no pull up top. It was corrected from 14.64 to 14.08. The math says it should be 14.08 but I am wondering it if should be halfway in between. Does the ethanol gas burn much cooler than straight gasoline? If so did you have to go to a hotter spark plug?

I did notice that on the trip I take to Dallas every week that straight gas at continuous 80 mph yields 26.2 mpg. gas with 10 percent ethanol gets 24.0 mpg. this has been verified by 3 tanks of each.

Not to put a damper on your question...but I dont think anyone cares. Ethenol is here to stay...Hell I dont even know what was in my tank when I dyno'd could be straight gas could be enthenol. I say we drop this subject as the Horse is dead and we are beating it.

As to the ethenol... The whole northeast has changed over for the most part and no one has had any issues....subject over. Talk to your tuner if its that big of a concern to you.

PS youd have better luck on the thunderbird website...Not here...... just my 2 cents

Yep pretty old. I think that you need to get yourself to a dyno and tune the thing to run on the ethenol blend if it's that critical to you.

grabber you don't have to be so rude. I was trying to find out real technical information. I feel that the 10% ethanol based gas will be mandated in all 50 states because of the banning of MTBE in gasoline. It is only a mater of time and I will have to make changes. I still don't like it but I can't do anything about it. I am planing on having the car tuned for ethanol bassed gasoline in the future just as soon as curtis gets the dyno setup all the way.

I went and looked purchacing at a used 05 gt at a local dealership and I decided to pass on it. The title showed clean the paint was in great shape but the car had been two separate cars at one time. The back half had been repainted and I found diffrent color around the wheel well in the rear where they did not remove some trim. It was at the ford dealership at 31st and Sheridan.

Is that your orange mustang over at planed parent hood in west Tulsa on Elwood and 51ST next to sonic?

Not trying to be rude here...I think the last thread you started about ethenol we were all pretty patient and polite with your questions and theories. That thread we left dead and gone and you bring it up again.
Lets drop this thread and subject, GO to kurtis's dyno and get your car tuned in if your so worried about it.

Was that my orange car at the planned parenthood? very funny and if you being serious in this question....no that was not my car. But if it was my car..I certainly wouldnt appreciate you telling people I was at planned parenthood for any reason.

Just like I wouldnt ask if that was your thunderbird at a strip club the other night..was that you?

as far as cold air intakes I really don't have personal experience with the ones on mustangs. I had to manufacture my own out of 3 1/2 inch mandrel bent exhaust tubing. I would however recommend insulating a cold air intake with the aluminum backed foam insulating tape in two layers. I found at low speeds that the uninsulated ones picked up a considerable amount of heat from the engine compartment. When I insulated my intake I reduced the temperature gain 5 degrees.

As far as tuners go I would recommend SCT over any of there completion.

I have not be to a gentlemen club in years I have everything I need at home.

Btw grabber you car does look great from the pictures I have seen.
