I've been having this debate with my dad & father-in-law. They are telling me that 4.10s are too much gear for the car and my top end will really suffer. They are suggesting 3.73s - and say my 1/4 mile times will be better.

What do you guys think?

If you have an auto then do the 3.73s. If you have a manual do the 4.10. My rpms only went up about 200 when I had the 4.10s installed.

I think your Father in law is thinking of cars in the past...these new mustangs are a different breed. 4.10 gears are perfect for our cars. 4.10s act like 3.73 gears in most vehicles.... YOU WONT BE SATISFIED WITH 3.73...just ask Tony he has them hehe...sorry tony..that was a cheap shot.

These 4.10s act like 3.73s that were in my 85 GT and 94GT...4.10s would have been too much for those cars but for the S197 mustang its a match made in heaven

At 65mph I am at 2200RPM in 5th 75MPH Im at 2500RPms. How much Highway driving do you do?

If your not wanting 4.10s than do 3.90s.... I promise 3.73s wont feel as though you did something...youll be asking yourself why you didnt go with a taller gear. My 2 cents

agreed do the 4.10's with a stick and 3.73 with an auto

you wont be able to tell the difference on the highway from stock, but they will help alot at the track!

Go with the 4.10s if your stick I have had everything from 3.31 to 4.10 the only diff on the street for me is exhaust noise do to a little increase in RPM. 4.10 gear will improve your 60 ft times at the drags which improves 1/4 times. I dont think anyone has noticed a change in gas mph for the fun factor.
