Local Dealerships

Christy took our Mustang into Bob Hurley Ford a few weeks ago to have them fix the noise in the rearend and a rattle in the dash. (I even printed out the Tech Bulletins). They found the same issues, then wanted her to leave the car but told her they didn't know when they would be able to fix it. Definitely not that day or the next.. We didn't leave it.

Next, Christy called United Ford, where we bought the car. They had us take it in, diagnosed the same thing. They couldn't get to it soon so we MADE AN APPOINTMENT for January 29th to take it in. They said it should take about 8 hours. They gave her a free rental car. (I think that it is covered in our extended warranty anyway)

Well, it's now the following Tuesday.. Supposedly the car is ready. Their excuses were waiting on parts. That excuse is crap to me, as they KNEW what parts were needed when we made the appointment. (The Tech Bulletins list the parts needed)

So, has anyone had any better luck with any of the other dealers?

Alot of parts that are part of a TSB are usually special order. They can overnight them but It costs more for shiping. The parts warhouse most of the time is the problem they just don't seem to stock parts untill they have a rash of those complaints.

What really sucks is the fact that the United Ford Warehouse is the second biggest distributor of Ford parts in the US only second to Dearborn and they never have the stuff that is needed. Greg is correct when he says that TSB parts have to be ordered. It's part of the game unfortunately. Bob Hurley is good and they get stuff done quickly, or at least have for me. Next time when there, talk to Randy Pierce and tell him you are part of the BMMC.

Bought mine at United Ford, also. Only took it there once for service - had rattles where the trim pieces met the top of the dash on both driver and passenger side. When I explained to the service writer why I was there, he just looked at me like I told him I stole all his crayons. He said "leave it with us, we'll look at it when we can". I said no thanks and left - haven't been back since. Searched The Mustang Source Forums and found the solution for the dash rattle - fixed it myself and haven't heard the rattles since.

The dealership jacked me around once like that. Went in and made the apt so there would be no confusion over what needed to be done.
It sat for 2 days before they did any work. On the 3rd day they finaly gave me a loaner.
The last time I made an apt. I did it over the phone and told them I needed a free loaner. They set me up. I had a brand new 08 chrysler 300 to drive. Didn't really care how long it took to fix seeing how they gave me a car to drive.

I think they would rather get your parts in as soon as they could seeing how they are paying 35 bux a day for a loaner car

Just for the record I will never and I mean never do any business with UNITED FORD of tulsa. I hate those crooks. That is where I bought my car and had the worst car buying experience ever. Long story short they lost me for good.

Well, we got the car back. All the problems are fixed. They did drive it 55 miles, though, which seems ridiculous to me.

Joy ride sounds like. 55 miles is way too much to see if they fixed the problem.

That is two many miles on your car for a problem like that. You cant go any place in this town that dosnt have rough roads to duplicate a noise.

There is a fix to the joy ride problem. You have a tune made for it, I did it to mine you could not exceed 60 mph or 3000 rpm. Oh man you know the guy that worked on your car would be ****ed when he took it out to run it.
